Android on Omnia II - i8000 (18.04.2011)

installed kgp package

installed flawlessly, works fine, boot as expected, after a few tries, still no issues with the "wakeup" from st by...which is a really nice improvement.

I have the battery indication issue, meaning, it shows charging when it's unplugged and doesn't show connection when plugged to external power

I saw kgp said to use another kernel (dated april 4 found page 253)

should I then only replace the zimage file on "my memory", and copy the modules folder too?

Well KPG's files are for korean omnia2

If you want it working properly

the developer says use EXT4

and of course keys and microusb things are different.

so you need to change kernel

Well the kernel is perfect for korean omnia 2

which doesnt have microusb etc.

For non-korean omnia 2, you need kernel that's for i8000

use original kernel (beta 2 original zImage)

coz the newest (19.3.2011) Kernel menu key doesn't work

Tested on Omnia 2 (GT-I8000T)

Used it with original kernel (beta 2 first release zImage)\

with newest kernel (19.3.2011) the menu key doesnt work.. [Have to put stu's 2d&3d lib with zImage, to use newest kernel]

works ok

Although Neokim (Developer) prefers to install on ext4

I didn,t, coz i dont have ubuntu

Waking up is sometime very hard thou.

(Problem I had all the time)

P.S

Im korean so this neokim's version is great for me.

[Launcher pro is hacked in korean]

All others can changed to Eng.

Hi kgp700:

LauncherPro's settings menu is in Korean.

Settings -> Wirelles and Networks -> The text of "Airplane Mode" is in Korean too.

When we want to add a widget or a shortcut, the menu "Add" of the home screen of LauncherPro is in Korean too.

And that's all for now, thanks a lot kgp700 for your work!

Regards!

(Sorry for my bad English too!) :D

Could you please upload the zImage for Neok 3.3 TS version as well?

zImage of first beta 2 works ok, but With 19.3.2011 version of zImage by itself, boot freeze comes up

and if zImage (19.3.2011) is used with stu's 2d/3d lib, it works but menu key doesnt work..

Or is it because im running in ext2???

Im trying to download ubuntu.. but takes ages....

2D/3D drivers are included, no need to install yourself

Using 19.3.2011 version of zImage, it'll freeze when pressing back button (camera button)

hi guys ,

I updated my omnia2 with this kernel.

found a few problems. 1) SD card not recognized

2) Battery charging too slow which consequently I suppose battery will drain too fast

3) In wifi not able to connect to a network with WEP key.

4) when you reboot the phone, even if the clock is set to the right region, the time goes back to GMT(while the time zone still remains right)

Anyone has any solutions guys Pls.

Regards

Thanks

What to do with the modules folder in Mishatir's kernel? Where to put it?

Using kgp's pack:iso installation on European omniaII:

-very stable with korean zImage,exept the button mappings,but copied the keylayouts from beta2 19.03. and all works fine;

-camera preview doesn't work at first,but when update the modules(only) from 04.04.2011 post from mishtair preview works ,but not clean with aspect camera apk;

-camera preview works super with zImage from 04.04. pack and can use original camera app from the beta, also can use all camera applications from market, but phone can't

detect SD card, also with 04.04. phone is really very fast, linpack always gives permanent 8.3-8.5 mflops, but the sd card problem....

-so for now I use the iso pack from kgp with modules posted on pack 04.04.2011 from mishtair, keylayout from beta2 19.03., and all works great for now for 2 days

no SOD,SPB MOBILE Shell 3D works(little bit lagy but works),some games work better too,camera preview works with original and other applications but after taking picture the picture is green;

-mp4 and avi playback is fine with some audio glitches...

For now this is the best combination of pack for me before FROYO from the Developers.

Greats to all DEV'S making this hard work.
