Guest erikcas Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 (edited) Does kernel .32 mean Android 2.2? Does kernel 2.6.35 mean Ubuntu :) Read about kernel here. In the picture here, see froyo as top layer. Edited April 14, 2011 by erikcas
Guest MrGenius Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Does kernel .32 mean Android 2.2? No, it means Kernel 2.6.32....
Guest bumar2000 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 I know kernel is not the same as OS, but froyo works on .32? Does it mean froyo is ready for i8000?
Guest tonzhou Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Changeset [122] by beamrider LCD pm and mutex fixes what it means? sorry for english
Guest i8000usr Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 I know kernel is not the same as OS, but froyo works on .32? Does it mean froyo is ready for i8000? Yup, its ready. Its been ready for weeks now, but the devs are just having a good lauch about all the people here that are desperately waiting like children on Christmas eve.... I guess some people will just never have the patience to wait for something to be ready. I just hope the developers will not be infuenced by this in order to not end up with a 'baby' that will have to stay in an incubator for a while, with related symptoms chasing the 'baby' for a long time.

I totaly agree with you, it's better to wait to have fully working OS, not early born baby :)

And you created an account just to state the obvious? :)
Guest erikcas Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 (edited) He didn't just create his account, he is just totally right! In fact, he/she created his/her account before some users here did. That would take an awfull long time to come with this statement. well before we only could think of booting android on omnia. keyword: patience! Edited April 14, 2011 by erikcas
Guest R11 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 (edited) On Eclair I used standard beta vold.conf and it just worked. Hi to all. With this kernel to mount sdcard try this. I create in /system/etc folder file "vold.fstab" file content: dev_mount sdcard /sdcard /dev/block/mmcblock1p1 utf8 And now my sdcard auto mount at Android startup. Edited April 14, 2011 by R11
Guest mihai_mihai Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 pls stop the offtopic nonsence, i'm tired of reading etire pages of nothing, ask or say something about android, even if it is stupid, we are not all geniouses but let it be topicrelated
Guest Sinistersky Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 back to topic... 16:44 Changeset [123] by bs Battery bug fixed. Good news ! :)
Guest i8000usr Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 And you created an account just to state the obvious? :) Yeah sorry for that, I'm one of those lesser gods that spend more time reading then writing, exactly because most things have been written before by someone else. Judging the last few weeks of this topic however, I must conclude that the obvious is obviously not always very obvious, hence my remark. Don't be bothered by it, since it doesn't concern you.

Guest surenz Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Changeset [122] by beamrider LCD pm and mutex fixes what it means? sorry for english Seems like the mute caused by the LCD turn off is finally fixed. One must-install software less (Call light or Keepscreen). So more RAM available. IMO the beta2 with the slmz updates was enough stable for me but the lack of memory was causing problems with the widgets on the Home screen and general slow down of all the system to the point that I wasn't able to pick up the calling phone.

Guest slmz Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Hi people! I have to say, my heart is parted, a side is very happy, I just buy a new phone, Galaxy S, now my ansiety is to wait it comes. Other side and this is very heavy side, is too sad, cause I naturaly will get retired my presence in this forum. I say this because was here that I learned to like android, learned respect the linux, and main, learned what is humility. This guys who work hard day by day and yet find time to bring us new hopes in have a good phone, mainly for who have not much money to update your gadgets, this people make a truly humanitary service. And nevertheless they stay complete anonymous, shown us what is realy humility. For finish I only like to say thanks for everybody who along this months have lived every emotions that this magnific work of Almar, Sandor, PHJ, Voyteckst and others who I never will know, but too never will forget. Certainly I go stay here by some more time, my phone still is O2 and your OS is android yet. I have my last installation very well succed, I have no sods and freezes and about 15 hours with 45% of charge. This is fantastic and Froyo will bring us much more happiness. I go to Galaxy because I receive a very good propose and would crazy to refuse, but I know, if I stayed in O2 soon my phone would be a spectacular android. Guys, good luck for all. Devs thank very much. And all of you will always stay in my heart! Good by. Sérgio.
