All of you people that are reporting that Market is not working, have you even tried logging into google account through YOUTUBE app? It is the 2nd note on last update on developers webiste:

Note2: If You have problems with registering via Google use following workaround: open Youtube app and login there with google account.

Yeah I know and already tried that for few times, still no avail...still can't sign in

battery life on froyo is just UNBELIEVABLE! I used the phone for 11:04 hours and I got 84% battery life left! I used WiFi for 5 minutes. No data connection used. Played music for over 4 hours through my headset and did 2 times Quadrant full benchmark.

=O

I downloaded the froyo beta 1 from official website of the dev's and an working 2d/3d driver which was posted somewhere at page 294-298

Just look for it and put that file at the first boot of android. I didn't even delete my old partitions on my sd card but just put beta 1 froyo on my storage and installed it on my sd card XD

I really must say, the battery life is AWESOME! No heat too!

I wonder about Android defaults - by default after install GPS is enabled and it has to be disabled manually (location services). By the battery drain (6 hours) if the phone is not used much (few calls, some WiFi) it may mean that GPS is enabled in the background. It strangely mirrors life in WinMo when using GoogleMaps for travel...

I know you are just sharing your experience, but please don't be so definitive, there are a lot of people using ext4 without any problem like me.

If you think the problem is not in your setup, you can always open a bug report on googlecode project page.

I am telling this because directing people to use manual methods is creating more problem than it fixes.

Please guys, who was install FROYO on SDCARD with auto install, see to partition of SDCard, what is FS with auto install EXT4 OR EXT2, I maked auto install, is must to create ext4 FS in SDcard, but in MINI Tool Partition i see, that i have ext2 FS. Is only survey, not thing important.

Damn, I still haven't found a solution for my problem:

"Google Talk authentification failed"

-> Which means, I can browse market, but I can't download anything.

- Logging in with YouTube app doesn't fix the problem.

- I've even created a new Google account - same problem.

- Google Talk app doesn't work, doesn't sign in.

Same problem,

-Tried authentific in the first boot, didn't work

-Tried YouTube, didn't work

-Tried this:

1. adb remount

2. adb shell

3. su

4. rm /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db

Reboot after this and the account synchronisation should now work

But also didn't work.

Hi there anyone.

I've been following this project back in the old year with interest, but have long since got myself a Galaxy S.

Now the other day I got my Omnia2 back from my sister, who ... occupied it for a while :)

Just for the fun of it, I finally put Android on it - so great work anyone involved. Good things take their time they say :(

However, I cannot get my WiFi to work - it just won't connect to my home network (WEP secured - I know :) ), nor to a non-secured network (mobile thethering from the SGS).

It just scans, finds available networks, tries and fails to connect, scans again...

Happens now with FROYO beta 1. This happend with the ECLAIR beta 2 as well.

I have to admit I did not follow the project for quite some time and just startet reading again 2 days ago, so I might have missed something.

My phone configuration:

no SIM-card, no external microSD-card

- I installed Eclair with automatic install ( modified bootloader from google code page FROM internal [My Storage] TO internal [My Storage])

- I installed Froyo today with manual format of 0p6 to ext4 (Ubuntu) and extracted the root archive there. (including the 3D-libs update)

- haret startup file modified to boot from 0p6

- nothing else out of the ordinary I can think of.

And WiFi Connection out of Windows Mobile is working, I checked that.

Finally fix : How to fix mount SDCARD

In init.rc is section:

# mount mtd partitions

# Mount /system rw first to give the filesystem a chance to save a checkpoint

## mount yaffs2 mtd@system /system

## mount yaffs2 mtd@system /system ro remount

write /sys/devices/platform/s3c6410-usbgadget/gadget/lun0/file /dev/block/mmcblk1

# We chown/chmod /data again so because mount is run as root + defaults

## mount yaffs2 mtd@userdata /data nosuid nodev

# mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /system/sd

# mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /sdcard

chown system system /sdcard

the command # mount vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /sdcard with # in begin is only text, not command, that Android don't know to mount SDCARD. is necessary to remove the # symbol at begin and write correct value mmcblk1p5 for SDCARD. Now is SDCard is correct with new reboot.

is here my init.rc, where is mounted SDCARD ( I have SDCARD in fat32 and value k1p5), rename to o2b3update.tar.gz and copy to root of My Storange for reboot.

if is not correct for you, is necessary to write correct mmcblk1p1...or..2..or..3 with your system.

init.tar.gz
