Android on Omnia II - i8000 (18.04.2011)

On my B7610, I have to wait and wait and wait during the first setup, pressing the green android and so on. It will work, just need to wait(at least 2-4 minutes). However, the other day, I did the setup for my friend's O2 and surprisingly, it was quite smooth(did it in less than 2 minutes), the difference was, I was connected to my notebook via USB.

note that I did this only once, so I don't know it will always be like this but it was so much faster that without the USB connection..

Hum, the problem is, if I keep waiting it wil eventually pop up the "force close/wait" message..

The weird thing is that I can still see the animation of the 'tutorial hand' telling me to click on the android in the background of the error message

Thanks, I'll try install with/without USB connected like you said just to see if it makes any difference, right now any idea might be good testing :o

If none of these work I'll probably go for My Storage installation

Wich will be sad because the main reason why I bought my SD was to install Froyo on it lol :mellow:

Can anyone explain me why I must type "sudo bash" in terminal, when I want to untar some updates (o2b3update.tar.gz)? After I type "cd /media/disk_/" I get message in terminal "permission denied, bash:...", then I must type sudo bash, and run terminal as root. But then my updates doesn't update at all. Some expirienced in linux - help? :mellow: p.s. - installed at My storage.

froyo clock has crazy

different clock statusbar and lockscreen and widget

statusbar and lockscreen clock is stop ,not refresh

now my omnia2 froyo clock

lockscreen - 9:44 am

widget - 9:51 am

statusbar - 9:39 am

how about this?

Manual (short):

1) download http://www.multiupload.com/7LNWXQC0S6 to PC

2) unrar file iso_0f2.rar on PC

3) phone. MyStorage 1Gb free (warning: 1Gb not frag)

4) copy directory iso to MyStorage

5) Open FileManager (in WinMo)

6) Run \MyStorage\iso\haret.exe

Hi,try this:

In WinMobile set your date 1 day back,start haret go to Settings date& time,set the date to 1 day ahead,set the time and all be correct.

-don't know but when date is set to 1 day forward the time works correctly,somth. with the kernel may be....

Well if you are doing an update... this is what i normally do with o2b3update.tar.gz. I extract the file, put it in a folder... connect my omnia 2 on ubuntu as a storage device [My Storage]. I run terminal and type in sudo nautilus. it will ask for password, so type your password in. A window will pop up giving u full access to i think everything.... now click on disk_ & copy the file i have extracted to the directory that i want it to be in and run haret on omnia 2. Well it takes a lot of time, but it saves me the trouble..

it supposedly been rooted. set cpu and root explorer works flawlessly. but i think we still cant use several application that need access root. (eg: easyfreezy)..

Your Omnia is I8000 or I8000L? Because a friend and I we have the same error with the I8000L and we don't know what is the problem.

The ISO mode runs perfect but the market is not available yet.

Yes, I see the green android and the hand animation telling me I have to click on it to continue but I click a few times, it flashes white but nothing happens and after a few seconds "Process system is not respondig"..

If I choose "Force Close" it immediately freezes the screen and after a few seconds.. SOD

If I choose "Wait" I can still mess around a little bit, like clicking on "Change Language" option for instance and scroll through the list of languages.. but after like 10 seconds it goes SOD too.. :mellow:

Yeah, I did installed the correct 2d/3d files

I've downloaded and installed again with the link you've sent me just to make sure, no lucky.. I still get SOD.. :o

My guess is that for some reason my Froyo is not installing the update correctly and causing the SOD at the start..

I might be wrong though..

Can't use the emergency dialer either although it recgonises the touch as the button goes orange. The only thing I can do is change the language. No SOD. There is a CSC force close error, guessing it is something to do with this....

Maybe try simply to skip setup.

I had the same issue, what I did is to wait till the cellular link was active and then tried once in a while till I could continue with the wizard.

It seems that there's a long initialization phase that prevents from continuing with the setup until after it finishes, for me it took about 5 minutes.

It worked for me (I8000H), hope it works for you was well.

everything works well, market, angry birds etc. But i've got problem with WIFI . My phone isn't able to find my home router. It has got WPA2 PSK encryption. WEP routers works well. Where could be the problem?

I did the same. Don't know where could be the problem.

Edit. You guys are talking here about SOD 's i mean freezing when the phone is in sleep mode and it's not able to wake up. I got it too, but i resolved it by setting normal lock screen. My phone was freezing when i used gesture to wake it up. So try it too.

Well I solved this by formatting and reinstalling on Ext 4. The first reinstall kept getting stuck, third time lucky!

All working now, although the marketplace isn't downloading, think I had this problem before so just going to re-boot....

I'm running on ext4 too, through manual installation btw. Same problem, market ain't not working, tried reboot for couple of times.
