Guest ashburn Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 OK,here is what I did: 1.Install VMWare Player 2.Download UBUNTU 32 bit version from here http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download 3.Install Ubuntu 4.Download & install MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 5.Take your phone ,go to Samsung Settings USB settings and set USB Connection to My Storage 6.Back up your My Storage to Storage Card (or you will loose all data there) 7.Connect the phone to the PC-> it will connect like mass storage device 8.Open MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition, select the Storage device Samsung and delete the partition->then click create and create 1020 Mb(in my case of 2 GB Internal Storage) FAT 32 partition(give it a name like disk0 without space),there will be left about 1 GB unallocated storage->select right button, click create partition format EXT2 with a name like disk and select APPLY!->your My Storage will be formatted!!!you will see only 1 GB Storage device in My Computer in Windows. 9.Copy the entire beta1024 folder content on the root of the storage device in Windows! ,not the folder, the content with Android files: ext2.targz default.txt zImage o2beta folder Haret.exe and o2bupdate.tar.gz 10.Disconnect phone & launch VMWare Player and run UBUNTU. 11.connect the phone, it will be recognized like android storage device. 12.In the Ubuntu go to Applications-Accessories run Terminal,--> write down this: sudo cp /media/disk0/ext2.tar.gz /media/disk/ and wait untill finishes after that write: cd /media/disk/ tehre will be a line like : cd /media/disk$ you must write down this after this line: sudo tar xzvf ext2.tar.gz -C /media/disk And you go,all the content of ext2.tar.gz will be extracted to disk (in this case Android partition) -> at the end of extraction unplug the phone from PC 13.Turn of the VMWare Plater & Ubuntu, plug the USB with the phone to PC again and edit the line: Set CMDLINE "rootdelay=2 root=/dev/mmcblk1p2 init=/init" to this: Set CMDLINE "rootdelay=2 root=/dev/mmcblk0p5 init=/init"[/b and save it 14.Unplug phone -> and run Haret exe from the root of My Storage not from inside o2beta folder And you are ready to test  sorry I dont have time post guide with pictures because haven't much time may be someone can make it but it is already posted youtube video how is done here: http://www.modaco.com/content-page/322429/...8000/page/700/# Regards & thanks to the developres provided this great work to all us! Ekremsky it works for me and i figured out why most of them cannot get it started. the edit line from your tutorial was wrong. change it to Set CMDLINE "rootdelay=2 root=/dev/mmcblk0p6 init=/init" TRUST ME I DID IT. IT works..

Guest xkill3rprox Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Anybody out there able to use their full internal memory of 8GB of your Omnia II?
Guest drwakey Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) Edit: Unsure if they even work: http://forum.samdroid.net/f38/3d-driver-sp....html#post88382 Seems to be something new, from the Samsung Intercept but modified for the Spica (where our 3D drivers come from). Guest djsolidsnake86 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Can anyone build a patch with these drivers: http://forum.samdroid.net/f38/3d-driver-sp....html#post88382 Seems to be something new, from the Samsung Intercept but modified for the Spica (where our 3D drivers come from). Guess they should be fast. are better that tom3q drivers?
Guest drwakey Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) are better that tom3q drivers? Dunno, i guess Tom3q would be better, but they arent finished at all. Take a look here: http://code.google.com/p/gles6410/wiki/Status Maybe those other drivers would be of use temporary, if they work at all. Is'nt sure, have to read whole thread about them myself now. Edit: Interesting Posts http://forum.samdroid.net/f38/3d-driver-sp....html#post88540 http://forum.samdroid.net/f38/3d-driver-sp....html#post88639 http://forum.samdroid.net/f38/3d-driver-sp....html#post88669 http://forum.samdroid.net/f38/3d-driver-sp....html#post88677 Edited January 23, 2011 by drwakey
Guest thew0lf Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Anybody out there able to use their full internal memory of 8GB of your Omnia II? I formated the whole FAT32 partition of "My Storage" to ext3, and am using it for Android. You should be able to do the exact same thing with your 8GB internal memory.
Guest Rapid81 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I formated the whole FAT32 partition of "My Storage" to ext3, and am using it for Android. You should be able to do the exact same thing with your 8GB internal memory. This is not a good idea, because if something may go wrong with your WinMo, you cannot do a hardreset, because the image needed to it, stored on a hidden partition on My Storage.
Guest ANGEL_666 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) Edit: Unsure if they even work: http://forum.samdroid.net/f38/3d-driver-sp....html#post88382 Seems to be something new, from the Samsung Intercept but modified for the Spica (where our 3D drivers come from). I'm test this libs - but perfomance is the same. Our problem not only libs, but in drivers (modules) too. Is i understand, we (and all 6410 users) have some serios problems with it. 1. Memory allocation in 3D driver is very strange.. It use shared memory instead of "static" allocated 32M. 2. It seems to be, that opengl 2.0 is rendered by software method over openGL 1.1 implementation = VERY slow.. But i was very impressed, when i run Samsung native openGL 2.0 cube test (from sams FIMG 3D sources) - its run fast! How it can be? If imistake - i will be glad.. By now, i knew only two guys, who can help us - Tom3q and Ginkage.. This is docs about how FIMG openGL MUST work in theory (taken from sams source). If developers found this usefull - i have sources too (shader compiler, headers, libs etc.) doc.zip Edited January 23, 2011 by ANGEL_666

I have a question: I have tried so many live wallpapers but none of worked I mean there is no option for live wallpaper when I wanna set wallpaper. I just wanna know how to enable them. Even I tried the Samsung live wallpaper, downloaded and installed both the rooted and non rooted from XDA.. but I am not seeing the option to enable it.. I flashed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=708332 wallpaper pack using Droid explorer.. but no option to select live wallpaper.. I also manually copied the libs required by the live wallpaper to system/libs folder on phone using droid explorer.. but again no success..
Guest teamkillexpert Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 It is still SLOOOOOOWWWWWW. When I boot up the first things to appear on screen is about 5 warnings saying something is not responding. the bottom and top drop down menus are not smooth wifi works but slooooowwww, takes forever to use the market, I can't even get Google maps because it simply fails to load that page. market is soooooo slooooowwwww that it could freeze and restart at times. the drivers are installed but I don't feel any difference.

Try to install it on my storage. It's way faster than on sd card. dunno why  And don't forget to patch zImage.
Guest drwakey Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) But the debug can communicatie with the driver (it says), but then something goes wrong and it shuts down Guessed something like this already. I think there is only a minor thing different, like some adress or so. Afaik the wifi chip and surroundings in B7610 are the same as in the i8000, so i dont think the whole driver isnt working. Maybe you find out something more about this  Btw, found this now: http://forum.samdroid.net/f55/spica-multit...r-release-1970/ http://translate.google.at/translate?js=n&...%2F&act=url Video: Driver Code: https://github.com/Gabriel-LG/i5700-multito...screen/qt5480.c Dual Touch for Spica :) If i'm not totally wrong Almar already mentionend that he had an idea how to do this. I guess if he would read this, it would be an easy thing to implement xD But dont push him with this! Edited January 23, 2011 by drwakey
