Guest zhvihti Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 thanks for the beta, it's really good ;) one question about the updates - after installing to My Storage the updates don't seem to get processed as the o2bupdate.tar.gz files are not deleted. i made a bit of a mess of my partitions (i now also have My Storage2), is there a place where i can configure the updates location? I'm booting from 2nd partition (primary) on My Storage. Thank.
Guest cicciosprint Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) Launcher Pro definitely has improved the situation here ;) Now the phone is definitely faster, although something seems to still be missing, performance wise. I tried installing those CPU drivers posted on post #900 or something but they basically screwed up my Android installation: perhaps something to do with graphics drivers? Which ones should I install? Also, two things: 1. is there a way to swap Baidu for plain 'ole Big G in the search box? ;) 2. what's the best keyboard for android, including Italian T9 language? Can't wait for the next beta, I can only imagine what GPS, data connection, Bluetooth and sensors will do for the phone's usability... Oh, and I can also confirm the battery drain problem aswell as the battery and processor getting a tad too hot under usage and vibration not working at all; I assume those will be fixed with the other sensors? And one question: in Android, screen lock and screen shutdown are two different things? I was able, after the screen had turned off, to wake up the phone by just pressing the Pick Up Call button, bypassing the lock screen Edited January 29, 2011 by cicciosprint

Guest DreamingInsomnia Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Oh, after a few reboots my phone no longer freezes, but after I entered PIN, the phone activity always FCs. gonna cancel PIN and try again. other apps just ran well, i can browse websites via WIFI and view pictures, and 2D acceleration seems rather smooth! anyway, great job!
Guest cicciosprint Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) here ask for the entire setup but at the next boot it restart the setup have you reinstalled the previous zimage? No need to reinstall the previous zImage: I just extract the beta, overwrite the zImage with the one from o2droid.zip and install regularly: as soon as the phone has booted, I shut it down and insert the GPU patch, restart, be done with the setup, restart again and then choose default action over Setup Wizard. VoilĂ ;) Still no luck with USB tho... Edited January 29, 2011 by cicciosprint
