...okay...

Back in track, has someone managed to get a GPS fix?

@voyteckst - that zip is almost useless - you must first install some terminal emulator, then login as su, then execute the script, if you know how to do that then you can do the rest yourself - if you really want to help write a good step by step guide ;)

Oh, and maybe it is a coincidence, but after rooting the phone I can't start wlan ;) - rooted > rebooted > can't start wlan...

That script is automatically run at bootup... and apparently, supercedes even o2bupdate.tar.gzip ;)

Then I'm sorry for my uninformed post. Where in the filesystem is it located? In /etc or /bin or /system ?

Can somebody tell me what parameters to use with fsck?

/system/xbin

Are you certain?

After starting terminal I enter "su" and receive Access Granted - so the script was executed.

cd /system/xbin

ls -a

And no o2bupdate.sh is listed. Am I doing something wrong here?

Have you red o2droid.phj.hu???? Script should be put on My Storage, then during starting is executed and then deleted. This script ONLY CORRECTS lack of correct su link in system path. Nothing magic.

Yeah I read that, but apparently suffered from momentary blindness. I somehow understood that the script is executed on every boot of the system, somehow missing that what it does is permanent ;) My bad.

Again I ask, what arguments should I use with fsck to check Android filesystem?

Under standard linux or android? Use rather standard linux - don't know if beta android for o2 has fsck for ext2 (it usually is named fsck.ext2).

Hi

can anyone help me my storage is gone and i want to install android on my o2 i have 1 GB sd card

I did like that but i cant get right

i get vfs: cannot open root device "mmck1p2"

"My Storage" is gone .. How can I run Android on my device?¶

Standard install needs "My Storage", but there is a modified version for installing from sd card.If you want to use it for install without "My Storage":

1. unpack beta1024.zip or beta512.zip in root of microSD card.

2. in sd card, enter o2beta folder, overwrite old sd.cpio.gz with modded sd.cpio.gz in this package.

3. run haret.exe in o2beta folder for installing Android

how can i modify my sd card should format it with fat32 or what

can anyone put a guide from A to Z

Well under Android. I know how to use fsck, I use linux at work every day. But I just don't know the names of filesystems here, normally it would be something like /dev/sda or hda or something, here I'm just lost. Oh, on Android there are two exec files fsck and fsck.minix. So any help here?

Thanks a lot for your comment.

I had looked in all the o2update files and rapids one seemed to have all the files except the zImage which I will copy over separately.

Did you install the original beta, then install rapids file straight away? The only reason I was going to do every step was because it worked before but don't really want to do them all again if it makes no difference.

Did you copy any of the newer zImage files over to the root of my storage because Rapids file doesn't contain the zimage file from my understanding? If so which one? The latest one which is 195kB if you only copy the zImage file.

I do have some idea what I am doing and have read most of this forum but I'm just not sure why I was doing everything right before and now I go back to do it all again I am running into troubles even though I don't think I am doing anything different.

This is what i did...

after unzip ext2.tar.gz into /disk,

i change default.txt line to "mmcblk0p5",

then I run Haret for the 1st time...

after android boot n i see setup wizard, straight away shut it off.

Then, now i copy new zImage (29/1/2011- 1.89MB) + o2bupdate.tar (Rapid's All In One) into root of "My Storage".

Run haret back..

wifi, google contact, market (after uninstall update), browser..all works..

but..android normally get freeze when the keyboard is supposed to appear..so messaging , search in market, twitter n facebook login process.. this where android had frequently get stuck..

This is a beta version, bugs and errors are part of it..coz its still under testing phase..

Install and check if it works for u... If it won't work then, you have WinMo..
