Guest paranoiadk Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) Seriously guys, with all the fuss about things not working... It's near perfect what it is. I've installed the beta on my storage (ext3) when the beta 1 came out (jan 18th) and from there I went on to install every single update I could get my hands on and it's working like a charm. I have no sleep bug, wifi works, the whole package... (all of what is supposed to be working anyway) Thanks to rapid I've got a working bootloader (not as pretty as gey.y dualboot but more importantly it's working). I just don't get where all of the complaints are coming from. As far as I'm concerned, the devs are doing their jobs (so to speak, they're actually doing us an immensely huge favour) and the beta is coming along so quick I barely have time to follow and keep up to speed with all the posts/tips and updates. I've uploaded all the updates I installed here. They are in no way sorted like they should be and I don't feel like going through them and finding out where I got each one... And one more thing. I installed them all manually. That is I set my Omnia in WM on mass storage, connected it to Ubuntu linux running on VMWare and manually expanded the archives (except for the zImage, that goes to my storage). If you need a guide for manual updates, try here. And seriously people, since the project is in beta, read the guides people post, go through the whole website, don't just look for the download link. And if you're stuck on linux, google it, there are many tutorials on everything you need in this case. I've yet to try 3G (I'm not covered at home) but everything else works like a charm. Just thought I'd mention this. I'm running Rapid81's WM 6.5.3 rom (build 29007) with the latest PHONE, EBOOT and CSC (JJ1) and that also works like a charm. No idea of it's relation to Android. My cpu speed is auto and I have no other special settings. I'm really sorry if mirroring updates upsets anyone. I'll remove per request. P.S.: Again, I don't mean to offend anyone, it's just that it's getting increasingly difficult to follow the project with so many posts asking the same thing or just people that haven't read any instructions at all... Once more, all the links you need: DEV'S SITE (here is where you get the beta) RAPID81'S APP CHOICE (thanks to Rapid81!) UPDATES (my upload) INSTALLATION TUTORIAL (thanks to quato7906!) I think this is about it. ;) Edited February 1, 2011 by paranoiadk
Guest aafi-rocks Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Has any one tried SetCPU to overclock..? ;)
Guest Jiroo Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 http://code.google.com/p/droidwall/issues/detail?id=6 i have this problem with droid wall and this error: modprobe: cannot parse modules.dep The project FAQ says that the problem is that iptables / netfilter is not supported by the kernel Is there any solution to this? Did you manage to make Droidwall work using the wifi-tether workarround you posted?
Guest nonione Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 managed to make 3G work here in el salvador its faster than ever!!! thanks a lot to devs rapid voytecks noobody etc ;)
Guest mat9v Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Tried a few different tools to overclock but none work (phone is rooted).
Guest thew0lf Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Ok, stupid question: how did you prevent your device from blocking every 10-15 min. Mine just freezes everytime i want to do "more". 3g is working (LOL) but no wi-fi???? Too bad you guys are not reading previous posts. This is caused by the lack of 2D/3D drivers. Just install the update you can find in the first pages of the thread, and all your problems will be gone.
Guest xson Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 It seems that even I plugged my usb cable, the Battery is still decrease(slowly) (i am using Edge also), but never increase. I think it should be fix? With WIFI + DC USB power supply, the increase rate is also very slow

Guest sport452 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 hey guys! I have been following this thread for almost 5 months now and i can say that this has been a great success! and i want to give my greatest gratitude to the devs for making this port happen! i have installed everything to my omnia i8000 gt 16gig (Philippine edition) and everything works i have to problems on what so ever, i have wi-fi, 3g, etc! and the good thing is i don't have the freezing problem i don't know about you guys but i just installed everything and every single release i just installed also and it works. i think we have to read the FAQ page often so that we could install properly ;) Again i would like to give thanks to the great guys who made this happen! good job!! PS i hope the devs could make the screen resolution big. i mean the screen resolution is small like its just 800x600 i hope they could make it look like before when the alpha version was release i think it was at 1024x768 resolution! but anyway it is still good ;) and its just my opinion :D and by the way im using my android 24/7 now :D im just switching back to wm every time i update my android! ;) good to say that i haven't encountered any problems yet :D THANK YOU GUYS! :D I love my phone more! :D

You aren't serious about the resolution are you? You do know that the resolution of Android is 800 x 480 which is the same resolution of our screen? It is not possible to show any higher resolution on our phone and don't know of any phones out now that are higher apart from the Iphone 4 which is slightly higher at 960x640.

Guest sport452 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 sorry about the smiles ;) im just happy ;) yeah im referring to the UI resolution, how do we change that? im looking at my options and i cant seem to find where it is... thanks! :D
Guest Phams0 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I've successfully managed to run android on my Omnia 2 without using My Storage (mine is missing). I followed quato7906 guide on post 756 (pg 38). The only thing I change was Step 13. Instead of changing it to ...mmcblk0p5 init=/init i changed it to mmcblk1p5 init=/init for the Storage Card. I applied all the updates. Thanks to all the quato7906 for his guide and the devs for all their hard work. And to all the members for their contribution. And Rapid81 for his contribution. I think im using all his stuff on Omina 2 now. (windows mobile + android stuff) lol.
