Guest paranoiadk Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 question???? can i merge all the updates ext2.tar.gz before the installation? right now i did fresh install to my storage. it ran fine after installation without the updates. but when i update it manually using ubuntu, i get error saying cannot find ext2 (cannot mount) attempting default. am i doin something wrong? and also how do i install it on ext3 partition on my storage??? I installed it manually following this guide. After I installed it I deleted the ext2.tar.gz file and did the same with o2bupdate1.1.tar.gz and so on... I don't know if restarting would make it better or worse. I just feel that if you extracted all the updates along with the beta, the system would wake up completely ok. BTW the updates I posted have all the 2D/3D updates everyone posted earlier. It's basically a collection of what has already been posted so no need to search the previous posts. I never got your error so I can't really say. Sorry. But does it really hang on the error? Or is it just a really slow boot? As far as connecting goes... You have to boot in WM and set the USB Connection option to Mass Storage. Otherwise it won't work. Also, people have been posting that ext3 is more stable so I'd try that. I'm using it and it's causing me no trouble at all (compared to the automated partiton created by installing via haret. That was a mess.) Oh, and I partitioned it manually with GParted. But I guess any kind of partitioning tool is good enough.

Guest bobhero Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I am still on my quest to get a working voice input keyboard... I have tried Swype v2.6.47.11856, and the HTC keyboard from XDA, but both keyboard do not even work as basic keyboards. Has anyone had any luck with a voice keyboard?

I have 8gb. I made a 1GB ext3 partition (didn't touch cluster size) and the rest is fat32 (also, didn't touch cluster size). I did however delete the 512mb partition (the WM install backup) and since the original fat partition was logical i left everything logical. I don't have a primary. Don't really know if that makes any difference and it seems sort of weird that I installed an OS to a logical partition but hey, it's working. ;) I guess your setup is ok. If it works with logical partitions I don't really see any reason why it shouldn't work your way. I don't really know what to tell about restarting... As I said before, I applied updates as they were available. So I could say that I've been running mostly Android for over a week now with minimal difficulties. Try manually installing and updating before first boot and see what happens. Might not be such a bad idea. And do post back if it worked, please. (if I ever need to reinstall it'll be a load off my mind if it works this way:)) P.S.: Just to clarify, the update versions are mainly for keeping the updates in chronological order. I do wish now I'd named them after posting dates...
Guest quato7906 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Hi, everyone who wants to have a working GMAIL apk (Google Mail) Download & rename the file to o2bupdate.tar.gz and install the update.o2bupdateGMAIL.tar.gz

Guest surenz Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 So after one night of standby of my last Android installation (taken from 4pda.ru the whole package with all the updates and installed to MY storage. Thanks to Tameran2009 for the packing): The android is extremely stable already. I have NOT sleep issues. The unlock button acts weird sometimes but always the phone wakes up soon or later (in 3-4 sec). The speed is very nice. Quadrant benchmarks not so high - 219. But really I don't care. Unfortunately, I cannot root the phone and while checked with Root checker, it gives me "Phone not rooted". When I do with Terminal emulation the su command, it gives me Access granted property of bla-bla.. but the second row is su: Permission denied. I will repeat: GPS is working BUT after it has fixed the satellites in WinMo. For some reason the cold start is not working from within Android itself. The phone lasted one night and the battery was fully depleted (4%) for some 8 hours and so which of I've been playing one hour with WiFi enabled. When I looked what is consuming the most, it appeared Cell standby 70% with 16 hours (impossible as the installation was done sooner ;) ) The phone already doesn't heat up so much even connected to the charger and with WiFi enabled. That's really nice because before my hands were burning after a 30 mins play with it ;) So my final words, the phone is moving faster than I expected to a usable Android system and we owe this to our really dedicated to the project devs. Big thanks to them and to all who are developing and giving ideas in this and other forums.
Guest emptyara Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 did fresh install.. i used 2d3d downloaded from the first page.(not nOObody one), plus 31/1/2011 updates.. but, cant get 3g data plan to initiate.. regarding the APN setting, I don't see any option inside there. I believed this occurred because I'm not even get the Network signal. So, I cannot make n receive call after applying the last update.. I guess am not the only 1 face with this prob. If Rapids read this, could u suggest anything?
Guest djsolidsnake86 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 The project FAQ says that the problem is that iptables / netfilter is not supported by the kernel Is there any solution to this? Did you manage to make Droidwall work using the wifi-tether workarround you posted? tried but no work

Guest Arcer Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Hi all, i've installed and updated my phone....but an andorid.process.media error handle to me....why??
Guest emptyara Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) Do you use PIN code? Did you tried to put the phone in airplane mode and back? Did u mean SIM PIN? If that is the case, I dont set any SIM PIN code.. I noticed, after new update default will be on airplane mode.. so i turn it off. took some time to turning off. Still, network signal is not there.. playing around with airplane mode now.. and some reboot.. EDITED: now i knew why u ask me to switch it on n off.. bcoz, I cant put my phone in airplane mode anymore.. ?? just noticed, vibration also missing.. just for info I did update with Rapids Vibration Fix in latest o2droid.zip on the first page on dev.'s website.. When I looked what is consuming the most, it appeared Cell standby 70% with 16 hours (impossible as the installation was done sooner ;) ) With latest update (my little script) root is working. Try SetCPU app. You can try to find out which su is used (it should be /bin/su symlinked to /system/xbin/su). Battery driver need some improvement, because for now there is used samsung saturn driver. Also sleep need impovements (checking all gpios for it). This is not true what you're writing about GPS. I got cold fix about 30s (no fix before under WM).
