Guest Chelonian Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 In what way do I8000 and I8000L differ (on hw base)? B7610 also differs a bit and with current build wifi ,most keys and vibrate don't work. Who has a I8000L which works flawlessly with all supported features? And what about I920? do all features but phonecall work? As far as I know the only differences are the 3G bands, I don't think there are any hw differences.

Guest voyteckst Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) For those with gps problems (and maybe others): Uncomment following entries in /etc/gps.conf (thanks for Sandor): XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin ... or download following file: o2bupdate_gps.tar.gz, rename to o2bupdate.tar.gz, put to My Storage, boot android ;-) It allows from now to download xtra.bin file for faster fix. Guest Rapid81 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) I reverted back to the "screen on to every button" keyboard layout, because that's the way how the droid works officially. :P Also, I put in ult_nrg's policy update, so the Menu unlocking is no more there. So, no need to deny the screen turning on to buttons, because you cannot unlock the droid, just with the slide. If you want it, then download and install it. :D o2bupdate.tar.gz Edited February 5, 2011 by Rapid81

Guest voyteckst Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 i applied all updates Look, it works for me and it works for other people. So probably You missed it or something. If You have adb, You can also do it manually following commands from this sh file.
Guest djsolidsnake86 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 i must open that sh file from root explorer?
Guest Rapid81 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I replaced the boot animation with this. It's awesome!!! :P The sound not working, but the animation changed. Really cool.
Guest voyteckst Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) i must open that sh file from root explorer? You have to extract this file suupdate.zip to My Storage, boot android and magic is done. Edited February 5, 2011 by voyteckst

Guest Rapid81 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I noticed, when I start the droid and the phone is plugged onto USB or charger, I not experiencing the "sleep of death". No matter I unplug the USB or charged, the droid doesn't fall asleep. When you put the WinMo on USB or charger, the CPU speed automatically set to HIGH. I think this do the trick. :P

Guest erikcas Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I am feeling really stupid but I am not able to install any more! I was able to install it a couple of times in the first week. Now since more than a week it doesn't work anymore! First of all I use MiniTool to create my partitions 'disk' (fat or fat32, 1GB) and 'disk0' (ext2 or ext3, 2 GB) on MyStorage and ubuntu to copy and untar the ext2.tar.gz Issue #1: the 'disk' partition ALWAYS shows in ubuntu as 'disk_' (no matter if I do a ext2 or ext3) and I can only copy to disk_ (it seems to me no 'disk' partition exists even so I label it as 'disk' in MiniTool) The 'disk0' partition shows as 'DISK0' and can only be used as 'DISK0' (thats not a problem its just strange) Issue #2: No matter which combination of fat/fat32 for disk0 and ext2/ext3 for disk I choose and what I put in the default file (root=/dev/mmcblk0p5 or root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 or root=/dev/mmcblk0p6) i get a KERNEL panic error every time I try to install android. I am getting frustrated and going NUTS! Anybody has a similar experience? Anybody got a suggestion? It seems to me than nobody of you guys seems to have an installation issue any more!!?? I have had this to. I think it has something to do with minitool. I solved it this way: 1. On your device, set USB to "My Storage" 2. Plug device to pc 3. (I use XP) from startmenu, right-click "Computer" and choose manage 4. choose diskmanagement 5. delete partitions and create new one, format it using FAT After this I was able to reinstall android again to my storage, starting with minitool step in tutorial Good luck!

I have a data plan which is not working and also when I try connecting to a wireless network, I find it but then I get the message "unable to connect to network". Any ideas how to fix it?

Guest Kiril Bistr Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) does wifi switch off directly after you switch it on? do you use a b7610 phone? (wifi not supported on this yet ...) wifi doesn't switch off, it is on and I discover networks, but I cannot connect to my home network. After I click connect I get the message unable to connect to the network. I still discover all the networks and can try again, but always get the same result. I am more interested in connecting to the internet via my data plan. As far as I understood this should be possible with the latest update, correct? I am using it on omnia 2 I8000 Edited February 6, 2011 by Kiril Bistr
Guest Richard2204 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Hi All, I have been lucky to have had a Galaxy S & HTC Desire Z for the last few weeks on trial for testing purposes and really got to like android. If I install this can you still do a hard reset and return the phone back to stock WM? Many Thanks Richard

Guest Carlos_rpg Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 It is just me or there is not a proper graphic driver already? (i've already install a 2D/3D but it doesn't show to much improvement) I'm facing a lot of issues for games For instance: angry birds, homerun 3D, ... lots of white squares .... beside that, it runs great! (just a few reboots once in a while but its OK)
