Guest paranoiadk Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Seems we can update the phone part from JA1 to JJ1 ! :P (and why wouldn't we, since it's a newer driver for the phone part) I just renamed JJ1 to JA1 and replaced in sd folder (with ubuntu) and voila! About phone now shows baseband version I8000XXJJ1 :D And I don't see any differences yet... Edited February 6, 2011 by paranoiadk

Guest thew0lf Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 3G data connection is too slow. I try to download Opera 10.1 beta from Market. 1 hour it takes to download 1.2 Mb of 6 Mb. Is this normal for this Beta version? In WM I have 1 Mb/s download speed for this connection. Do you have flash player 10 on Opera 10.1? One of reasons I don't like WM is the fact that Adobe discontinued updates for Flash player. Some users have reported that installing Android on "My Storage" solved the slow downloads issue. Flash isn't supported. You'll have to wait for the froyo release.

Guest lotuxete Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Hi, Does anybody know anything about video libraries? VEVO it's one of my favs apps, but it doesn't work propertly. It hangs up just when it tries to play any video. Bye.
Guest paranoiadk Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Then what's with the "...using PHONE_I8000XXJA1" line during boot? Honestly, I didn't look up what baseband version I had before, but I just assumed that it was JA1 because of that message... "This has no matter, because phone part is loaded via eboot.

Guest elbee72 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) what happened to "Latest News" on code.google? When we all waited for beta a few months ago, and forums closed for some weird reason ..... there was a need for "latest news". Now all communication is open, the PHJ website is public, so no need anymore for a latest news on http://code.google.com/p/omnia2droid/. Also the main page is changed, all points of (known and reported) info are on the main page (with some content description), so you can shop for yourself. It would be nice if all sources of information and communities came together on one site, but i don't know if this will happen soon. The omnia2droid website is operated by a community so things/content/opinions can change, contributions (related to content, maintenance, ideas and development) are very welcome. EDIT: included the url for those who don't know the site yet .... Edited February 6, 2011 by elbee72

In back button (camera), but you need press very fast so just turn only one action back <----- it's wrong Just press the camera button half way to get back one step (just like you would in the WinMo camera app to focus). @thewOlf Edited February 7, 2011 by slmz

You'll have to wait for the froyo release. OK! I managed to download Opera from Market after almost 3 hours. Interesting is that web search is done at high speed, but Opera does not support flash player. In WM I even have flash lite player. For now I stick with Android installed on SD card. When things will evolve I will install a stable version in My Storage. Thank you for response and to dev team for their work. (Translated with Google Translate)

Guest slmz Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) I use this tuto: U can try this.. Below is the method that i used to installed Android 2.1 into 'My Storage' on our Omnia 2. First step that need to be done is do the right partition. I guess if we done this part wrongly it can caused error (kernel option) due to android cannot find the right path to locate the system files. I used Minitool Partition Wizard Home to do the partition. 1.Partition - My Storage - 2gb FAT - primary type - named it as "disk0" [ii] 2gb EXT3 - primary type - named it as "disk" [iii] 'balance remain' gb FAT - logical type - named it as u like. mine is "WMStorage" Then, u have to make sure that ur SD card is properly delete previous Android installed (if any) first, go to samsung setting in winmo > memory > storage card > format. (don't forget to backup) then, do the partition like below using Minitool Partition Wizard. - SD Card - FAT - primary type - name it as u like :P Through PC Windows, copy Android beta files (beta1024 or beta512) into "My Storage". Files includes: (haret.exe, default.txt, o2beta, zImage, o2beta folder) - THIS WILL WORK..BUT.. IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET ALL THE UPDATES WORKING PROPERLY, I ONLY COPY (haret.exe, default.txt, o2beta folder) from Android beta. for other remain files (zImage, o2bupdate.sh, **ext2.tar.gz) i took from 31/01/2011 @devs website. ** FOR THIS PART I OPEN ARCHIVES USING 7-ZIP, AND DRAG N COPY ITEMS FROM "o2bupdate.tar.gz" (31/01/2011) & "o2update.tar.gz" (nObody 3d) into "ext2.tar.gz" MAKE SURE TO PUT THOSE ITEMS IN THE RIGHT PLACE. 2.Untar into EXT3 or also known as "/disk" through Ubuntu type in this command using Terminal "sudo cp /media/DISK0/ext2.tar.gz /media/disk/" wait till it finish. [ii] then, type in "cd /media/disk/" there will be a line like : "cd /media/disk$" appear. [iii] then, type in "sudo tar xzvf ext2.tar.gz -C /media/disk" wait till it finish untar all the necessary data. ....CLOSE TERMINAL DONE UNTARRED EXT2.TAR.GZ INTO "/disk" now need to manually update another item (o2bupdate.sh) that supposedly located earlier in your "My Storage" ....open terminal then, type this "cd /media/disk" [ii] then, type this "cd bin" [iii]then, type this "rm -f su" [iv] then, type type "ln -s /system/xbin/su su" ----> (still working on this part bcoz my android still cant properly root to the device yet) -but many claimed it should work.. DONE WITH UBUNTU :D Finish with that. just some steps away to get ur android working.. after that using PC Windows, change the line in default.txt to: ** Set CMDLINE "rootdelay=2 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 init=/init" ** THIS PART CAN BE VARY, U CAN USE THIS PATH IF ONLY U DID EXACTLY SAME PARTITION LIKE ABOVE. 3.Run Haret for 1st time!! wait until it boot.. ENJOY IT.. Actualization by Radies: Here The last step " o2bupdate.sh " insercion don't work, so I update with manual metod with replace files onto ubuntu, one by one. Guest FactionOne Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) (EDIT (after install)) Could someone give me a bit of advice about partitions on My Storage please? I have i8000 2GB internal storage version; so 'normally' I have 512Mb hidden for Windows Mobile recovery partition; and ~1448MB available. I used a partition tool to split the 1448MB in half, so now I have: 1. (Primary) 728MB - FAT32 (for My Storage) 2. (Primary) 728MB - EXT3 (for Android) 3. (Hidden) 512MB - FAT32 (for Widnows Mobile recovery) ...But, since I have re-partitioned, Windows Mobile sees 'My Storage2' - which I imagine will be the recovery partition? (it shows a 'Programs' folder and a couple of files) My questions: 1) Will this Windows Mobile recovery partition still work? 2) Is there a way of hiding it from Windows Mobile again (so it is not visible in File Explorer etc.) ...If re-partitioning My Storage means that WinMo recovery cannot work again, please advise and I will remove this parition and use more space for My Storage and EXT3. Many thanks, Rob. Edited February 7, 2011 by FactionOne

Guest voyteckst Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) try to overclock to 900mhz on stress test..but it hang device..try to configure Cpu driver 1st..i'll inform later Ok, i just tested on clean, updated installation and linking to /system/bin/su isn't really enough (also chmodding 4755 isn't enough). When trying to strace, there is problem with setgid(32) function. Altough it's strange, because it worked fine... If You have rooted phone - can You explain how? Are You using fully updated beta?
