Just followed your instructions Steve and I can confirm I have successfully upgraded from the o2 UK 2.1 ROM to the official 2.2 ROM, and it is working like an absolute dream. Took 10 mins max, minus the download time.

did you put the contents of Steve's zip into the same folder as your fastboot.exe on the PC & run the command lines?

i'm just trying to make sure i understand what to do !

i don't know what quadrant scores (i will google) but you don't sound very happy!

Unpacked Steve's zip to a seperate folder on their own, copied fastboot to same folder (plus pkg file, but what do I know ! lol), opened a command session and followed instructions.

Did have Quadrant scores about 1200 on Steve's 1.3 B)

! error so far, Dell's Welcome app - I assume it's supposed to play video to walk thru " How to use" instructions, but nothing plays. Tunein radio looks good, finds local stations for you on internet (so watch your quotas !)

i think steve's 1.3 has got a over clocked kernal... did u try quadant on Steve's 1.1 or 1.2 as this maybe a fairer test?

maybe the kernal from 1.3 can be migrated into the official 2.2?

No. I've tried. Had to restore to 4399 to get the phone to work again. I'd recommend upgrading to 4399, 8105, v1.1.1, v1.1.3, then the amss, system, and boot from 2.2.

those of you coming off steve's 1.3 have enjoted a performance gain from steve's work that you wont get on the official 2.2

so i'm running quadrant as i type to give bench mark between steves' pre 1.3 build & dells official

can i used it to upgrade from official o2 2.1 to official dell 2.2, even if i am locked o2 and baseband 21 eu? can i just copy the 2.2 update in my sd card and just do the volume buttons and power on then option 2 plainly?

If u want to navigate to a diffrent folder in command prompt start with this

cd c:\

Notice I put cd first , another example will be

cd c:\android\tools

I'd wait.. if you've waited this long another couple of days won't hurt..

IMHO this is still a beta build.. If dell are releasing this as a final after us begging to get involved, then sneering at us for having the sheer cheek to suggest it. They really deserve the entire team scrapping and the manager sacking.. OH wait..

there's a LOT of bugs. Really stupid bugs that should have been caught..
