Guest Woshmistro Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Alter the desc.txt. desc.txt isn't there, thats for the bootanimation.zip in 2.2 I guess it doesn't really matter, I'll find or make an animation for playing once.

Guest Woshmistro Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I'm running 2.1 and using bootanimation.zip... :) ...oh, ok lol. I haven't used Androids (or any smartphone) for a very long time (like a week) and I'm new to ROMs and that kinda stuff, I'll have another look! Thanks!
Guest majnu Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 will this replace the "orange" logo? or that little green man? thanks
Guest Ash.UK Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 Hi, I tried this with vol up & power on to keep green man on (ie fastboot mode) The i went to the fastboot folder (where i copied the splash.img), ran the command and get the following result: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600] Copyright © 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:\Users\Ash>cd.. C:\Users>cd.. C:\>cd zte C:\ZTE>fastboot flash splash splash.img 'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. C:\ZTE>

C:\ZTE> you need 'fastboot.exe flash splash splash.img' (It's not clearly declared, because the usage depends on the OS)
Guest ezablade Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 you need 'fastboot.exe flash splash splash.img' (It's not clearly declared, because the usage depends on the OS) or fastboot-windows.exe
Guest Ash.UK Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 or fastboot-windows.exe You mean? fastboot-windows.exe flash splash splash.img
Guest radeonuk Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 This is what I use: This is what my brother uses:

Guest paulads Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Splash Image Install. To use splash image you need fastboot or the full android sdk. Copy splash.img to the folder containing fastboot. Now open a command prompt and cd to the fastboot folder. Type "fastboot flash splash splash.img" without quotations. Bootanimation Install You can do this through adb or using Android Commander in recovery. The easiest way is to use Root Explorer, go to the folder /system/media/. Delete bootanimation.zip. Now just copy the new one to this location and reboot. I put the BootAnim on my Orange San Francisco with FLB's R6 Froyo Rom G2 in place of the (pretty ugly) ZTE bootanim using the above method...but with ANDROID MATE (free) it works a treat and looks fantastic great work - thanks very much!
Guest DarkFlux Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 I really want this one! Can you upload the .zip file please?
Guest thriddle Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Very nice! Thanks for all your work!
Guest MacheteMacheteMachete Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Thanks to Frankish for uploading the boot animation (and by the way for your beautiful themes). I installed the bootanimation with terminal and superuser. Hope my instruction will help other noobs like me. 1. copy bootanimation.zip to SD-card 2. start terminal 3. type "su" to get superuser rights 4. type "cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/" 5. type "reboot" Worked fine for me with Pauls r11.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 installed with the Paul's R11 rom worked like a charm rom is great but i don't like the www.modaco.com thanks great work ;)
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 it seems that the software reboot in bootloader mode doesn't work with fastboot (get stucked) ;) so turn off your phone pull out the battery turn your phone on and enjoy
Guest DonJamal Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 and what if... if i aint find bootanimation.zip in system/media ?

(with root explorer cant copy..cuz the filesystem is read only :S ) 1. copy bootanimation.zip to SD-card 2. start terminal 3. type "su" to get superuser rights 4. type "cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/" 5. type "reboot" Edited January 21, 2011 by DonJamal
