OK folks. v1.3 is attached in post #11

http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&amp...t&p=1545787

Rather than change the images, I figured I'd let you do your own customisation.

Create a folder /sdcard/data/vegausbindicator and pop in the following files:

usbs.png: Slave mode image for the large widget

usbh.png: Host mode image for the large widget

susbs.png: Slave mode image for the small widget

susbh.png: Host mode image for the small widget

If the files don't exist, it will use the images from v1.2. You don't need to replace all 4 images, just drop in as many as you need. So, if you only use the small widget, just add susbs.png and susbh.png.

To a certain extent, the widget will size to the image size although there are minimum sizes related to the widget and icon grid used byt the launchers. Anyroad up, just have a play until you get it looking how you want it.

Cheers

Understand and appreciate what's already been done - Thanks again!

Edit: Don't worry I've been able to resize it using ADW Launcher

Do you still want it to run the shell scripts instead of launching Paul's app?

If so, I'll need to figure out a way to confirm the action. You don't want to click a widget and have it do a reboot without asking. Would a simple "Do you want to reeboot, yes/no" type thing do the job?

That's awesome mate!

Just a suggestion for next update what about having Host underneath an icon like applications?

Don't want much you lot do you

I could do it but because I haven't been prescriptive about the image sizes, it would take a lot of complex code and testing to account for abitrary images. Would be much easier if you just edited the image. Don't use Paint if you're on Windows, it doesn't handle bitmap transparency. Use Paint.Net or GIMP or similar.

I think it's best to give you guys maximum flexibility rather than to say "for the small widget, it must be 72x72 pixels at 160dpi", "for the big widget.... blah blah".

Let me know if y'all don't agree.

That would be great - but as I edited my post it's ultimately not necessary now (for me at least). Using the ADW launcher I have minimised the widget size to Icon size (roughly) anyway, and also created two custom widgets for switching USB host and slave.

Don't go too far out of your way!

Thanks all

remlap - simple icons but work very well. I added them but specified 1x1 icon size and they fit in nicely

Sweet remlap. Thanks now using those.

If you don't mind, I'll make them the defaults for the widget.

Where did you get the original icon? Is it freeware/open source/public domain?

Cheers

Sorry - when you add the large widget, it defaults to 2columns x 1row. When adding it, I just made it 1column x 1row and it fits in nicely.

HTH

Ah that's what I did too.

Found them here.

Sorry but what is 1x1 icon size?

Thank you remlap...

I created a slave and host mode icon for the small widget, based on the usb icons you linked to...

The reflect the style I use for my homescreens...

(50% black transparent background)

Any chance of a quick update as the kernel version has changed so even when in slave mode, icon shows host ? ;)

Ah ha! Thanks for the heads up (I don't use it myself as never switch modes ;))

I'll get this done, possibly today but if not, will be mid next week. Sorry for the delay, got a test release deadline of new my app approaching!

With MCK r2 refresh 'slave' or 'host' is displayed in the kernel version info.

Thanks - does the switcher icon now show what mode you are in based on the kernel version or do we still need this separate APK ?
