Guest Sebastian404 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 I'm going to sound like such an idiot here but building the boot.img, is this right: mkbootimg --kernel ./zImage --ramdisk ./ramdisk.cpio.gz -o ./newBoot.img I can't find out if the blade needs a command line set or not? no, but it does need a base....
Guest FelixL Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 New kernel (kallt_kaffe) booting great here. And 5 mpix camera is finally working! Does the 3MPx cam still work, so we have a kernel that works on all devices?

This is what I use: mkbootimg --base 0x2A00000 --kernel zImage --ramdisk ramdisk.gz -o boot.img
Guest wedlled Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Did any one had trouble flashing the img back (boot.img)? I cant fastboot flash and the old flash_img boot inside adb shell gives me "No space left on device" after a couple of read-all zero...
Guest sawta Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Hey Guys the GIT repo @ https://github.com/ZTE-BLADE/ZTE-BLADE-2.6.32 is fully populated with code in case you need it.
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Does the 3MPx cam still work, so we have a kernel that works on all devices? Yes. Also the key-lights work. However it still need the fixed radio apps for some reason. Edited January 6, 2011 by kallt_kaffe
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Overclocking was a walk-in-the-park to add btw... Overclockable kernels for JJ RLS4: http://www.mediafire.com/?r25e4psa71aulbs Edited January 6, 2011 by kallt_kaffe
Guest tcpaulh Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Does the 3MPx cam still work, so we have a kernel that works on all devices? Yep, just tested
Guest FelixL Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Yep, just tested Thanks, great news for all the Base Lutea owners in Germany, and the guys over in Finland.
Guest popoyaya Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Overclocking was a walk-in-the-park to add btw... Overclockable kernels for JJ RLS4: http://www.mediafire.com/?r25e4psa71aulbs pretty bad quadrant score, was getting around 1000 with hacked froyo
Guest jt_mcg Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 pretty bad quadrant score, was getting around 1000 with hacked froyo You stick with that ROM then, it's obviously much better!
Guest Frankish Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 pretty bad quadrant score, was getting around 1000 with hacked froyo I'm guessing his score is with stagefright turned off!
Guest nagygergo Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 pretty bad quadrant score, was getting around 1000 with hacked froyo It's much better now. That was because stagefright was enabled and we got "wrong" scores.
Guest rayraven Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 This is probably the actual performance of the phone, stagefright is broken on 2.2, causing the sudden increase in scores.
Guest olionair Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 n00b question: how can i get this on my phone ? using fibblesans r5
Guest popoyaya Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 n00b question: how can i get this on my phone ? using fibblesans r5 here it starts
Guest Afrodude Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) n00b question: how can i get this on my phone ? using fibblesans r5 Sebastian404 already posted how to: if you rename them to be boot.img, reovery.img, and then put the rest into a zip file and rename that to system.img you should be able to use clockwork mode restore... Im getting a quadrant score of 9,000!! *facts in this post may not be accurate (Honestly (to everyone who may read this topic)... if you don't know what to do with this you shouldn't bother doing anything. This is source code (the thing people write to make applications amongst other things... not the physical applications. Just wait for someone to include a custom kernel into one of the various ROM's around) Edited January 6, 2011 by Afrodude
Guest sorrowuk Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Does the new kernel stop freezing on the lock screen where the touchscreen would stop responding and you had to remove battery?
Guest MrHicks Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 not the physical applications The compiled kernel has mass??
Guest jtc42 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 The compiled kernel has mass?? Well obviously, didnt you know kernels ACTUALLY weight down your phone O.o
Guest Simon O Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Well I got a kernel built but can't boot my phone with it. Also for some reason can't boot the Jellyfish kernel that kallt_kaffe built. My ROM is based on the Chinese... is that why they won't boot?
Guest tom619 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 im confused, now that we have the kernel is a stable 2.2 here yet?

I'd sort of suspect that was not helping.. you getting any dmesg outputs?
Guest Sebastian404 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 im confused, now that we have the kernel is a stable 2.2 here yet? define 'stable' ? we have the source for the kernel that came with the softbank 003Z device.. and we managed to compile it..... that's all we have
Guest Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) im confused, now that we have the kernel is a stable 2.2 here yet? this is the japanese which has slightly different hardware, i believe we need to wait for the chinese kernel which goes on sale in a few hours in china i believe.
