Guest Frankish Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 that happened to a few of my widgets as well, I put them back after the 0x90 mod and they're ok... I put them back everytime and they disappear each time. Tried power off, tried reboot in menu and tried a different power off and reboot app. Each time widgets go bye bye.
Guest dadashi Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 there's obviously a few more tweeks to do for the 0x90...functions like these should be standard feature in any rom... my daughter is still using modaco 2.1 R4, is there any way to installl the 0x90 on 2.1 eclair..? She's the bigger music fan...
Guest tonydl Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 @flibblesan and 0x90: Any chance that we get a mod for FLB with the notificationbar-powerwidget, only? I think this is the most asked feature - and without all that other functionality around this mod it might be more stable (and less work to do in fixing bugs). :P
Guest ivanko021 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Personally I use: the long press to kill an app if it hangs while asking SU permission Volume up/down as D-pad lest/right to fix mistakes while typing - one of the most useful features! lockscreen music control/ long press volumee up/down skipps to the next/previous track and the power widget of course! In my opinion these functions of the mod will be used most frequently.
Guest Frankish Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Removed the mod and my widgets remain after a reboot now...shame.
Guest Stevvie Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Removed the mod and my widgets remain after a reboot now...shame. I've just done the same, Shame though looked promising but having to delete and then re-add the widgets far outways any benifit this mod has :P
Guest Smiff2 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 agreed that 'long press back to kill app' should be in all ROMs. unfortunately, some apps seem to hook the back button so that they detect the first press down, so you cant long hold on them - e..g K9 mail
Guest jbfyou Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Removed the mod and my widgets remain after a reboot now...shame. I had the same issue but after rebooting 2 or 3 times its ok now and my widgets remain. I have jj9, launcher pro plus, your gingerbread theme and 0x90final, the only thing i done is to revert to clockwork 2.1.5.8 through fastboot in order to install 0x90, as 3.0.0.5 refused due to different updater scripts. Hope it helps somehow
Guest dadashi Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 I've been using "myunlock" for ages, 2.1 and now on 2.2...it's the smallest unintrusive app to wake up screen using any button...I don't want to keep using the flimmsy SF power button... Since installing 0x90 "myunlock" doesn't work and I'm forced to use the power button again...any alternatives? I don't really want to use "button savior" or other bloated software...
Guest Paden Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 yes. the fourth icon is data. :P Hi all I've just installed 0x90's mod on FLB-Froyo G2 & the 4th icon appears as sync not data, has this changed from earlier versions? Is there a fix? Cheers, Paul
Guest Simon O Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Forth icon shows as data on r8 of my rom. BTW I've removed the mod too as it was causing the widgets to be lost...
Guest dadashi Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Forth icon shows as data on r8 of my rom. BTW I've removed the mod too as it was causing the widgets to be lost... What's the easiest way to remove the mod?
Guest Rotmann Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 What's the easiest way to remove the mod? Flash the ROM over it without wipe.
Guest dadashi Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Flash the ROM over it without wipe. Ok, just flash FLB-8a once again without wipe....any other way to get the volume buttons to work when screen is off?
Guest BillBong Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Flash the ROM over it without wipe. I'm having the same problem with the disappearing widgets so gonna reflash the ROM. I assume I have to re-flash my Frankish gingerbread theme over the top again?
Guest dadashi Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Funny, I only had widget problems the first time I installed 0x90...after a reboot no more probs... My only concern is that I have to use the flimmsy power button to activate the screen, otherwise I prefer having the music player options in standby....
Guest redandr Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Btw, 0x90-jj-final.zip (For Japanese Jellyfish r9) doesn't work with Clockwork 3.
Guest Paden Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Forth icon shows as data on r8 of my rom. BTW I've removed the mod too as it was causing the widgets to be lost... Thanks for the reply, although that's a bit odd I'm running FLB-Froyo r8 (2.6.32.9-flb-1.0) & the icons I have are: Wi-Fi; Bluetooth; GPS; Sync; Brightness??? I've downloaded 0x90's mod twice & loaded it initially after your Gingerbread theme & then directly after your main rom, both times with the same result. Anyone any ideas? Cheers, Paul
Guest Lew247 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 aww it's so annoying the widgets dissapear after rebooting, this ruins this mod, and I really wanted it because its the only way to get the volume keys to work as cursor keys while inputting text I know I "could" use the htc-ime keyboard and this has this option but I like the gingerbread keyboard and really wanted it for that

Guest ivanko021 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Yes but Gingerbread Keyboard > HTC
Guest 0x90 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 i will look into the widget problem when i have time. Iam currently writing a thesis where iam analyzing open-source projects to see if there is a correlation between comments in code and the activity in the open-source project.
Guest Xenon0816 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Thanks for this really great mod! I'm on JJ9 with a gingerbread theme by frankish, installed the mod without wiping, and everything is working fine so far! I love the option to use the volume rocker as a dpad lef/right in text input! BUT there are two problems I experienced so far: The lockscreen won't go into silent mode anymore, but always goes into vibrate (although I set vibrate to except silent mode in settings) The haptic feedback on the hardkeys stopped working for me... On the themed JJ9 it worked fine for me, just stopped with this mod! I will install the mod again with wiping in between and will report back if it worked better.

So how many comments does your mod have? :D But it's a very interesting topic - if you don't mind I would read it. My bachelor thesis is approaching... :D

My bachelor thesis is approaching... :D Not that many. I would guess the comment density is about 20% or something in my mod. Like a typical open-source project. Iam writing the thesis in swedish so i dont know if you would understand it. The abstract is going to be in English so i might post it here when iam done if anyone is interested.
