Guest Pelemane Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 It seems only Orange doesn't have the little '|'.... and giffgaff apparently lol I dont have '|' and im using Saunalahti
Guest chall32 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I'll report the pipe "|" issue now. Will let you all know the issue number. Cheers
Guest hecatae Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Silly Question, Is any one else seeing a " | " at the end of there lockscreen operator text? Or is it just me  Running Nightly 4, but this been there from RC1... If it's just me then OK no worries, if it's not just me then I'll raise an issue... @Victor - cheers for making first post pre-morning coffee proof :) got same issue, did not see it til you mentioned it
Guest rjm2k Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Right, so I put my virgin sim in this what i thought was 'locked' san fran. but i didnt need to put any numbers in :| and its saying im on t mobile, even though its a virgin sim! :| bit freaked out.. but I can comfirm that I now see 'T-Mobile|' even though im on virgin.. lol I'm on t-mobile proper and have no | at the end. I think this is down to the RIL which is being used, I think it was from Finland so most of these operators are "foreign" to it even though they are our home operators.

But if it's never happened before CM7 then it must be to do with them... surely?
Guest chall32 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Pipe '|' Issue reported 2948 - http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2948
Guest fonix232 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 AOSP (Android Open Source Project) code doesn't allow to turn on wifi in the setup wizard. Dont ask me why.. but on any phone (like my moto cliq) it doesn't have a wifi option in the setup wizard aswell whenever I use an AOSP build. On the Blade it doesn't force close on me, but usually I have to just skip the setup. don't worry, you're not missing much. Just skip setup, turn on wifi and then login to a google account when you click on a google app (e.g market) Actually, if you disable data connection and try to log in, it will offer it  About the slash at the end of the carriers: please take a look at /etc/apns.conf . Search for your carrier, and see if the string value has the slash. If it has, it's not a bug, the node was added like that (on some older CM, it was cutting off a few characters).

Just done what you said, and in that whole file, there is no such thing as a '|' :)
Guest doubleluckstur Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I just want to know if this is only me.. Does the 'USB Debugging' icon appear in the notification bar for any of you? It's starting to annoy me that all I can see is 'USB connected'.... there should be two icons.

Guest cooldfuzion Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) the " | " is not important, just a cosmetic bug Edited February 22, 2011 by cooldfuzion
Guest JimJam707 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 the " | " is not important, just a cosmetic bug It's still a bug though. The less bugs, the better
Guest chall32 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 the " | " is not important, just a cosmetic bug Exactly. Hence the original question "is it just me?" As I'm OK to live with it if it's just me.... Since it isn't just me and others have it too, I'm more than happy to report it.
Guest birdibird Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 It's still a bug though. The less bugs, the better :) Here too: Vodafone Netherlands|

Guest fonix232 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Settings => Applications => Development => USB debugging notify At least that's where it is on CM7N4 on my Desire... It IS there, but no notification is actually displayed.
Guest bartasrex Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 OK. Here is a kernel I compiled myself early this morning, not sure if repo sync pulled the new kernel for me, but the attached does have a different size to the one supplied with Nightly4. NOTE: *NOT* tested myself yet, posted for those eager to try! Thanks Frankish for this update zip! working very well for me!! thanks!
Guest doubleluckstur Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 It IS there, but no notification is actually displayed. This is the same for me. Should I report it?

Guest Cazomino05 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) custom kernel posted earlier works nicely, before it was impossible to use top up vouchers since once you rang 150 and put it to your ear the proximity sensor turned the screen off, had to do a reboot as the device seemed slow (which in turn made the machine on the other end incomprehensible) but I applied n4 and the kernel at the same time without starting the device figure that's more of a ROM thing I've had it before on first boot EDIT: does anyone know why LP is so slow in comparison to gb launcher ? sort of wanted to use it since it has more options Edited February 22, 2011 by Cazomino05

Nice and smooth. Not as quick as ADW EX but i'm sure LP is due a re-write and a big new release.
Guest skull_fcuk Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I had the issue with the USB debugging showing with no icon for USB transfer. I went and toggled Tethering/USB, and got it back. I didn't have to have it actively tethering. I just switched on the option then turned it off. Worked after that.
