Guest alex1alex2alex3alex4 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Yes. The phone shuts down. Happened this afternoon. Even if CM is reporting the wrong battery percentage somehow, there's no point, Since the phone shuts down at 0 anyway. Have to see what the team makes of the battery drain issue. Just did the same to me (down from 7% to shutdown in less than 2 hours ...), although imho the phone wasn't really as "dead" as I would expect it to be with a totally drained battery, the return button was still flashing red. Anyway, charging now.
Guest leetron1 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Back to JJ9..battery life a deal breaker for me
Guest JimJam707 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I think my new Blade will arrive tomorrow, gonna root it and flash it with this rom. Some questions: - after an update to a new nightly build, do I need to wipe/flash everytime (and install the programs again), or can I simply update every day? AFAIK, no. You can just flash the new nightly with no wipe. - Is this rom also available in Dutch language? CyanogenMod is in a lot of languages. It's probably in Dutch. - Does this rom install apps automatically to SD card? If not, how to set it? Not sure. - Is the phone also simlock free with this rom? (I've read some ROMS do this) AFAIK, no. But their is a free ap somewhere on this awesome forum that does it. Same here
Guest Nauseatic Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I'm on RC1 still, but the biggest issue for me isn't the proximity issue, but the headset issue. I didn't really see this specific issue somewhere, read through all posts; Volume in headset (using the provided one) is terribly low on phone calls. Unusable. I'm on the phone many hours a day, and I rely strongly on using the headset. Sometimes it won't recognise the headset and use the phone speaker, but when it does work, it's so quiet I cannot use it. Is this a known issue? (didn't see it in the list either)
Guest bagge Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 can someone please test if air control lite runs well on this rom? worked fine on mcr 2.1, but wont work on JJ 2.2, just crashes after a few secs. thanks

Guest Rotmann Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) for me synchronisation with google doesn't work either in nightly 4... Did you wipe, format system? Did you install gapps? Anyone else having difficulties with Angry Birds? Mine refuses to start at all. Crashes right at the start. Other games such as NFS Shift work smoothly. Also Quadrant runs ok. I did a clean install of Nightly build 4 (factory reset, wipe cahce), installed google apps and installed Angry birds from market. Reported blind lazy user (answer a few posts back) Battery: I don't think there is a battery drain issue, it looks more like CM7 reporting values lower than they are. In Froyo the battery read 65%, flashed into N4 and battery read 18%, tested for a while then flashed Froyo back and battery read 44% What you did there is rubbish, if you flash at 65%, the battery reporting will be faulty, android has to "learn" and "know" the battery again. The fast battery drain issue exists 100%, just left the phone at 20% in airplane mode, after 13 hours it was dead, spare parts reported it was sleeping the whole time. Has anyone tried allowing the battery to drain to "0%" to see if the phone keeps on going? Yes, the phone switches off, CM7 reports battery correctly and eats it fast. Not sure about this issue but I did have a problem last night on N3 with the touchscreen stopping working during X Construction, had to remove the battery. I did save the log using alogcat from the market afterwards but do you think that would contain the required info after a reboot? Had thought about logging it as a bug but not sure if enough info there. Press the phone on/off button to "revive" the screen, this issue is already on the issue tracker, check it out. so backed up my rc1 rom using rom manager, and flashed nightly 4 i couldnt the get a internet conection so tried to restore again using rom manager but it didnt work, instead just flashed a new rom  now ive reflashed rc1 and im getting no signal on my network, not sure if its the newer clockwork so im going to flash back to an older one. Did you wipe, format system, etc.? Also did you have the correct APN? I think my new Blade will arrive tomorrow, gonna root it and flash it with this rom. Some questions: - after an update to a new nightly build, do I need to wipe/flash everytime (and install the programs again), or can I simply update every day? - Is this rom also available in Dutch language? - Does this rom install apps automatically to SD card? I would update only if significant changes have been made. Like the nightly 5, it will bring a lot of new fixed stuff tomorrow. - yes, available in dutch - apps2sd works partially on CM7, some apps have to be moved to the phone to work. Partition your SD first with a fat32 primary partition, second with an ext3 partition and install simple2ext (s2e) from the market and set it once to move apps automaticaly to that partition, you won't have to deal with it anymore. That's only for cases in which you have lots of apps and games, if you use only 15-20, you don't have to do it because they will fit on the phone and on the card (the ones that work). Also check out the partition mod here, it's brilliant and you win a lot of wasted space. - yes, the ROM unlocks your phone. Edited February 22, 2011 by Rotmann

Nightly 5 seems to only bring proximity fix, and that's just a new boot.img, so it should be totally fine from nightly 4 as far as upgrades go.

Guest BigD18t Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Did you wipe, format system, etc.? Also did you have the correct APN? Yes i did all the normall stuff, for some reason flashing the rom from Clw3.0.0.6 it wouldnt put the apns in, ive flashed back to 3.0.0.5 and its all good again.

Also removed the FMRadio app...not sure if that will be the massive change for nightly 6  I'm very happy with nightly 4 + new boot.img. Calls work now yey! EDIT: Battery life really isn't that bad for me. On a normal work day my usage is pretty much identical, in a poor 3G area (1 maybe 2 bars tops) on FLB and Japanese Jellyfish i could finish the day on around 45% battery. (6.30-17.00) With this Cyanogenmod7 i finish between 35-40% on the same sort of day with the same sort of usage. I spend a full dinner hour web browsing with the poor 3G, maybe play a few games. Also probably about another full hour of use in there with my other breaks. Battery life for me is comparable to my HTC Desire. Edited February 22, 2011 by Frankish

That's why I argued originally that the battery life was fine. Unfortunately it's lousy in standby if you're a light user.
Guest skyhacker Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Hey frankish can u post the new boot.img I read somewhere that it might be the only diference beteween nighty 4 and 5, much apreciated
Guest IronDoc Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Back to JJ9..battery life a deal breaker for me Just out of interest, why on earth have you repartitioned your rom if you use app2ext?
Guest leetron1 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) Just out of interest, why on earth have you repartitioned your rom if you use app2ext? Hi..Not really out of prac necessity...to maximise use of space available but mainly for the tinker factor...was curious about TPT..tried it and worked fine then thought Tom's layout was just about perfect...almost just accidentalled my way there...no harm done+ space to burn=no reason to go back. Love DT a2sd though noticed there are lots of s2e advocates...nice to have choices  Anyhow back on JJ9 now until battery drain is solved>> Edited February 23, 2011 by leetron1
Guest ufoman Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Is USB tethering working with nightlies? I'm about to open a bug, but if it's already fixed, I guess it ain't necessary...
Guest mannas Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I don't know if this is a stupid question to ask but here it comes is there a way to get the htc ime working on CM7?

I think the new boot.img has helped me a bit, seems better on power management, as the fixes say. Battery life was weird for me before, as in, similar usage patterns would yield totally random battery drops. Lets see how it goes over the course of the night. Could be interesting. I was getting 15% drop through no usage, y'see.

To provide logcats on the issue tracker i wiped everything, reverted to stock partitions, just flashed the ROM without gapps or any additional apps or games and did a 12 hours timestamped logcat, from 100% gone to 80%, where Froyo or Eclair would have needed 1%. Phone slept as it should, no partial wakes, the battery drop is linear. I am a power user too, on Froyo I got 24-36 hours on a charge, with CM7 I get 16-24 hours. That's a huge difference. Guest rayraven Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 With the nexus one getting the android 2.3.3 update, any chance the adreno 200 drivers can be adapted for use with the blade? Is the interface still laggy or has that been fixed since the nightlies?
Guest lordjubblydave Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I'm pretty sure this has not been mentioned. My wifi force closes. I cannot connect at all on nightly 4. Also on every reboot I have to reselect my launcher. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing these issues? Also the battery life is shocking. I am fully charged now. I am going to work where my phone will be on my locker. I will report my battery drain later
Guest SebbesApa Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Also on every reboot I have to reselect my launcher. Have you moved your launcher to your SD-card?
