Guest rjm2k Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Hmm, no nightly 5 for us and the buildbot is still hiding so any idea what failed? Hopefully a new release tomorrow.
Guest hood Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) CMN4 - Doesn't vibrate on alarm Edited February 23, 2011 by hood
Guest targetbsp Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Well, I've re-downloaded the nightly 4 and the new boot.img. Binary compared the 2 boot.img --> they're exactly THE SAME! So, i dunno why Frankish's blade is now working..... I second this observation! So how come no-one was happy with Nightly 4 but they are after having replaced a file in it with the same file? Are Cyanogen likely to have updated their nightly 4 with the fix? Or do we have some kind of rom related placebo effect going on here?
Guest ManMetDeHamer Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 so im using the CMN4 but for some reason there is no exit option on the browser, is this by desing? how do i fully close the browser now?
Guest Qwertzycoatl Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 CMN4 - Doesn't vibrate on alarm Mine does  are you sure you have checked all settings for the vibration on the alarm?
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Another note on battery life, mine went to sleep at Midnight last night, along with me. However, battery stats say it woke up at about 4, and stayed awake since then. It's be gradually loosing battery, even since i've woken up and looked it, it's gone from 71% to 69%, and I literally only looked at the screen.
Guest skymera Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 This is the boot.img from the RC2 Jacob sent me last night, it should have been in Nightly 5 just assume it failed to build.boot.img
Guest hecatae Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Pipe '|' Issue reported 2948 - http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2948 :) i'm liking the priority for this
Guest lordjubblydave Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Battery life update. Time since unplugged : 5 hours Briefly went online for 10 minutes. Then phone sat in locker. Used 30%
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 This is the boot.img from the RC2 Jacob sent me last night, it should have been in Nightly 5 just assume it failed to build. Ooh, what's the RC2? Is it something coming out very soon? And I thought there's only been very few fixes to RC1, RC2 seems a bit...early
Guest targetbsp Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 This is the boot.img from the RC2 Jacob sent me last night, it should have been in Nightly 5 just assume it failed to build. That still has at least the same MD5 as the one in Nightly 4. :S
Guest marcodassi Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 That still has at least the same MD5 as the one in Nightly 4. :S I confirm this boot.img is BINARY IDENTICAL to the one in nightly 4 (scratching head)
Guest _amano Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 so im using the CMN4 but for some reason there is no exit option on the browser, is this by desing? how do i fully close the browser now? CM7 has to option to kill foreground applications by holding the back button. Thus no "exit" button is needed.
Guest skymera Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Odd. He said it was fixed O.o We'll just have to wait then it seems. Not long
Guest ManMetDeHamer Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 CM7 has to option to kill foreground applications by holding the back button. Thus no "exit" button is needed. Could you point me to that setting? cuz for me it isn't doing that
Guest wbaw Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I confirm this boot.img is BINARY IDENTICAL to the one in nightly 4 (scratching head) Maybe the boot.img in nightly 4 has been quietly fixed instead of producing a nightly 5?
Guest z01z Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I confirm this boot.img is BINARY IDENTICAL to the one in nightly 4 No, it's not. The one from nightly 4 is 3430400 bytes this one is 3436544.
Guest skymera Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) Could you point me to that setting? cuz for me it isn't doing that menu > settings > applications > development tick "Stop app via long-press" No, it's not. The one from nightly 4 is 3430400 bytes this one is 3436544. I just MD5's the Nightly4 and RC2 boot.img and they are identical. Guest treschi Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Then it was fixed. The MD5 of yesterdays Nightly 4 boot.img is DFBAD6482D2F52DA2755588297AD14C1...
Guest marcodassi Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 No, it's not. The one from nightly 4 is 3430400 bytes this one is 3436544. well, I've used the good ol'DOS FC /B command... which I trust Then it was fixed. The MD5 of yesterdays Nightly 4 boot.img is DFBAD6482D2F52DA2755588297AD14C1... So that's the explanation! A quiet update... lol
Guest skymera Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Then it was fixed. The MD5 of yesterdays Nightly 4 boot.img is DFBAD6482D2F52DA2755588297AD14C1... huh? I just downloaded Nightly 4. Care to share that boot.img?
Guest treschi Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) I've downloaded Nightly 4 again today. The new boot.img has this MD5: 45B943569121B203E9899CF439C25EAA Yesterdays Nightly 4 had DFBAD6482D2F52DA2755588297AD14C1 Do you need the old boot.img from yesterday? Guest Spies Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Battery life update. Time since unplugged : 5 hours Briefly went online for 10 minutes. Then phone sat in locker. Used 30% You realise that placing it in a metal box, it's going to have to use more power to maintain a cell connection?
Guest jbj Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I've downloaded Nightly 4 again today. The new boot.img has this MD5: 45B943569121B203E9899CF439C25EAA Yesterdays Nightly 4 had DFBAD6482D2F52DA2755588297AD14C1 Do you need the old boot.img from yesterday? Does this explain why no matter how or how many times I download nightly 4 today, I always get an md5sum of f816d065a855b9529d4a3d221611b159 as opposed to acf6ba95d0ac0e4285f95d8a7de685c0 like it says on the download page?

Hmm, does the "14C1" boot.img fix the proximity? That's all I'm really after It seems the files have been mixed up? People getting different MD5's for the same Nightly is wrong.
