Guest alex1alex2alex3alex4 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Be4 installing nightly on other ROM u need to do wipe! :( Nightly is good :) Love that ROM :( It depends on where you upgrade from. When upgrading from nightly to nightly (or even from RC1 to a nightly) I always wipe cache + dalvik cache, but I never wipe data. When upgrading from a Froyo ROM - yes, full wipe required.
Guest Zythus Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Thats what I mean - other ROM like Froyo :( When updating from nightly to nightly I do wipe cache too :(:)
Guest thomas01155 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 I have to say the GPS doesn't drain the battery as much compared to all other ROMs I have ever used.
Guest css771 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 The kernel config has really made a difference to battery life. Just over 2 hours now, and there are no partial wakes at all, in place of several earlier. Anyway have to test it overnight. Nightly 13 / RC2 should be out sometime soon. t0mm13b great work catching that oversight :( and all the devs too of course.

Guest targetbsp Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Has this been uploaded anywhere? Could you upload the boot.img? I think post 28 here should do the trick? http://android.modaco.com/content-page/333...kernel/page/20/ At least I hope so - cause I'm about to put it on my phone after its charged up!
Guest css771 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Has this been uploaded anywhere? Could you upload the boot.img? Here it is. It's from Tom's repository. The config changes have been merged even into his repository so it's the same as jacob's. md5:0cf7d05400265dd1bd1bb13405d65d6b http://www.mediafire.com/?03n450p8308yote

Crumbs! Just flashed that and the phone's sparked back into life immediately following each of three calls! You're a bunch of heroes! :(
Guest minz007 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) From which ROM / Version did you upgrade to N12 ? Did you wipe anything or just install on top of what you had before ? i was upgrading from modaco r12 froyo and yes i did a full wipe (apart from dalvik wipe) i always fully wipe when switching roms as i gets rid of a lot of problems EDIT: i just flashed it on again but with the kernel update posted above and it worked :( but after i restored a some data using titanium backup it boot loops again Edited March 5, 2011 by minz007
Guest Zythus Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Are developers reading it? If somebody can tell em - if it can be done. I am writing messages, in horizontal mode. after I leave my phone for 2 min, and it lock, after unlocking its in "normal mode". And I need to put my phone up and rotate it to have horizontal. So, its possible, to horizontal stay after phone is locked/unlocked?
Guest _amano Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Crumbs! Just flashed that and the phone's sparked back into life immediately following each of three calls! You're a bunch of heroes! :( That means that the new kernel fixes the battery drainage issue AND the proximity issue? :( That sounds too great...

Guest Zythus Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Is it possible to do that, after lock and unlock, the sms shows in horizontal mode, not in normal? Please, its annoying :( anybody can answer?:(

Please, its annoying :) anybody can answer?:( The problem isn't lock / unlock. Hold the phone in landscape mode until the display dims, bring the display back, unlock, you will see it's still in landscape mode. Now write a SMS in landscape (horizontal mode), turn the phone flat (lay it on the table) and you will notice it turns to portrait mode. At least it does that for me :(
Guest admanirv Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Got the damn proximity screen lock bug on n12, happened every time i got a call :( - hope it gets fixed soon. Progression on blade specific fixes has all but dried up recently - still the rom is awesome and thanks for all the hard work.

Somehow you missed the information a few posts back that states that a new kernel fixes this. It'll be in the next nightly or RC2 whatever comes first.

Guest tttonyyy Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Crumbs! Just flashed that and the phone's sparked back into life immediately following each of three calls! You're a bunch of heroes! :( Also tried this - it's much better but still there are times when the screen doesn't come on when taken away from your ear.
Guest ufoman Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 I've just found out that LG's launcher (version with 4 icons on the bottom bar and no homescreen indicator) works very well on N11, in fact it is a little bit faster than ADW EX when scrolling homescreens, app drawer is a little choppy but usable.
Guest wbaw Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 RC2 is out for the Legend, hopefully the Blade version wont be long.
Guest ufoman Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 RC2 is out for the Legend, hopefully the Blade version wont be long. ERM... RC2 for Legend was released 1 day after RC1, check the dates.
