Guest dtop Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Doubtful it's the same problem on stock 2.2, but no you don't need to be rooted just follow the instructions posted earlier.. It's very strange as only started doing it last week and have had 2.2 since december, will give it a go, thanks

Apologies, stock O2 2.2 with the same issue, I've got abd talking to the Streak but it won't let me "root" or "remount". $ adb root adbd cannot run as root in production builds $ adb remount remount failed: Operation not permitted Sorry, very new to this, I assume I've missed a step...? Guest XsCode Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 (edited) it doesn't say "adb root" anywhere in the instructions??? make sure you have usb debugging enabled then adb remount *should* work also it seems you are running the commands in adb shell, which again is not mentioned in the instructions Apologies, stock O2 2.2 with the same issue, I've got abd talking to the Streak but it won't let me "root" or "remount". $ adb root adbd cannot run as root in production builds $ adb remount remount failed: Operation not permitted Sorry, very new to this, I assume I've missed a step...? The attempt at "adb root" was to demonstrate that I had no permission to remount which as far as I can see is a root-only function. I briefly rooted the phone using rageinthemachine and that allowed me to remount system as read write. Now having entered the world of dragons and pushed the file changes, I've broken it and it's stuck at the Dell logo and it's refusing to mount the sdcard where the recovery image is. C'est la vie, I'm now looking around for the fastboot image to correct my error.
Guest srPR Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Try page 19 of the 1.7.0 release post: I am afraid that I am obviously not as experienced as the rest of the folk here as I don't know what the fix actually means. I can understand that there are two files that I need to upload to my Streak, but can someone give me step by step how to do this. Have the files extracted on my PC, but not sure how then to find the folders referred to to load them up to my Streak (I am assuming that is what you do). Have looked on SD card and can't find these file locations. Have had to solve more issues than you can shake a stick at with the Streak and have worked my way through most of these just can't work this one out. Cheers
