Guest dadashi Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 (edited) wow this is awesome. lg camera is awesome. im using swedish spring rsl4 or 5. cant remember which but this is frikkin awesome. the video quality is superb! I'm going to have to go back to RLS5 just to see how good it is....though it won't make a decent Nokia smartphone camera out of a budget 3M Pixel ZTE camera... Edited May 1, 2011 by dadashi
Guest Ron=) Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 I think its CM7 issue. But QIK camera and LG camera both did not work. They didnot capture anthing. (It just freezes..) Indeed! :/
Guest Bonbergol Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 what are the best settings for photos an videos on lgcamera?
Guest HMZX Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 what are the best settings for photos an videos on lgcamera? Easy: I've now ditched Qik, lgcamera is much better  Settings to use: Video Resolution: 800x480 Video Encoder: H.264 Video File Format: MPEG-4 Video Bitrate: 2Mbit Video Framerate: Auto Audio Source: Microphone Audio Encoder: AAC Audio Samplerate: 16000 (if you set it higher, it seems to default back down to 16khz anyway..) Audio bitrate: 51200 With these settings I get pretty nice, smooth, artifact free video. 16khz still isn't the best sound, but it's miles better than 8k :o My only problem with lgcamera is that it doesn't want to save these settings, so I keep having to put them in again :/ [edit] I recorded a little test with lgcamera, download it here. I used the settings above. Guest DannyDanny Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...from-the-blade/ new app. still not good for cm7 though
Guest GX390 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Just tried it on SS5 and it works well
Guest GX390 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 And LG camera is so much better than the standard camera app, great find!
Guest dadashi Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 (edited) Dailyroads works in CM 7.0.3 @ 800x480 mpeg/MP4  Edited May 9, 2011 by dadashi
Guest beebaakid Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Great thread, been messing with lgcamera and the video is great, may sound dumb but it took me 10 mins to realise you had to touch the screen to focus the camera and video, I was about to ditch it, hope this info help someone.
Guest Roph Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) Just thought I'd bump this thread, the author of lgcamera has updated the app, and now it stores settings correctly. Now I've totally ditched the stock android camera / video apps. Edited May 12, 2011 by Roph
Guest Whatever75 Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 Definitely not a replacement for standard camera app and it's not going to make the weak camera any better either.... lgcamera is way better than standard camera software on ZTE, which is (imo) almost unusable.. I have used Roph's setting for video capturing, but still trying to figure out which setting are best for still-capture, any idea? And someone here said that their lgcamera doesn't save setting, I don't know if it were some old version on something, but at least my lgcamera setting stay just as they should after restarting the software. Big thanks for great video-capture setting btw! (My first post on this forum, been reading for some time though, awesome site!)
Guest ejhollin Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 I don't think the bitrate goes much above 1500Kbps even if you set it much higher. It's a shame, because the the quality would improve a lot I think. Hopefully it's not a hardware limitation...
Guest OtherguyX Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 yup, i love the high quality you can record at (800x480) or whatever. Its not HD but still pretty damn hellish good!
Guest dadashi Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 I'm on cm7 and it doesn't have good camera drivers, hence lgcamera doesn't work :D and standard camera app only records in 320x240........................
Guest vverto Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) If you have problem with VGA and WVGA in CM7.0.3 copy this file to /system/etc/ as root. :D then you can use Lgcamera and others video app, stock CM camcorder app also suported 800x480 (as .m4v) with this... Problem is 12 fps videos only, we need find how make 20 fps+ videos ...media_profiles.xml Edited May 31, 2011 by vverto
Guest Hanks6 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 thanks for the info on lgCamera...heads up though the settings listed in this thread cause my phone to reboot and crash (FLB, OLED SF) - changing video encoder to MPEG-4 instead of h.264 fixed everything.
Guest Kuoi Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Tried "lgcamera free" to teston Ginger Stir Fry , but seems to not work well. After about 30 tries , I ended up with 3 actually recorded videos. It seems the camera is not stopping when recording , and sometimes i must have hit the right button or must have hit right combination to get the 3 recordings. BTW : my phone = ZTE Blade

Guest admanirv Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Dailyroads works in CM 7.0.3 @ 800x480 mpeg/MP4 :) Are you sure? checked the file 640x480 it says.
Guest admanirv Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 EDIT: Looks like dailyroads does but you have to choose HQ. At least it works on CM7 eh?
Guest admanirv Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) BTW :) Lgcamcorder working on CM7 you just have to set the codec to h263, and file mpeg4 and aac then it works. I'm running nighly122, the media file posted on page 2 of this thread and libcamera file too. I've confirmed its recording at 800x480 mp4 but using h263. 264 isnt neccesarily better quality than h264. I'm using this app for video and camera as it seems better than stock app. Edited July 5, 2011 by admanirv

Guest admanirv Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Works for me on CM7 - check the above depends if you want to upgrade to 122 as highier res was definetly added not too long ago for videorecording, i bet 72 doesnt have it in.
