And I cant get SU access in the terminal emulator.

Guest alabama20 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Finally got Swap working on my storage... So now i'm with the new beta.
Guest ricardocr Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I am getting "Couldn't find filesystem superblock"....end? when I use the full install on a newly formated sd card I tried the update from beta 2 and I get to a part when the installer ask me something about the size of the partition, wich of course I can't answer from the phone, PLEASE somebody at least be so kind as to send me a reply Thanks
Guest erikcas Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) No USB should work. How d You think I'm using it? Time - airplane on-off or 3g connection on boot. Can confirm that. I am on the "oldskool phonepart" for 2 weeks on Beta2 and now on Beta3. All things that should work (on B7610) work, including USB (ADB + storage) The fact that my time was wrong, there was only one thing to blame, and that thing was me.. Edit: Not shure about beta3. Can't compile the modified kernelsource yet offcourse for B7610 :P Edited October 19, 2011 by erikcas
Guest alabama20 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 For me the "enable 2g" works ;)
Guest antonio junior Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) No USB should work. How d You think I'm using it? Time - airplane on-off or 3g connection on boot. my usb is working normally connect in Windows 7 and is normal, as if it were native anything if you want to send some photos. I noticed that moving the zImage change the settings of RAM, for example if I put the zImage beta 2 is the RAM settings of the beta 2, and hardware upgrades are still running the Beta 3. Guest entgna Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Hello thanks to the dev for this job.... I explain some about my experience and any questions I have. I installed Froyo beta2, it was my firts experience with android and I have to learn how it works Android. Now I installed the beta3 from the automatic installation on FAT32 formatted microSD. Now, I have a first partition of 5.8 GB FAT32 and Ext4 seguda 1GB. The IMEI recognized me, I have not tried the bluetooth, and the camera works. I notice that I continually get an error that closes the "media container service" One thing I try in the beta2 and still does not work is: - Do not let me move applications to SD. - Don't work the automatic rotation. How do I fix this? Edited October 19, 2011 by entgna

Guest Gardakkan Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Finally got Swap working on my storage... So now i'm with the new beta. Do you mind sharing with us please? That would be good for anyone like me who wants to try out the new beta though I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of creating a swap partition using linux and adding it to /etc/fstab but I'm looking for fstab and all I see is vold.fstab so can anyone help with this? I have a pretty stable beta2 install on my storage and I made a tutorial on how I did it (its in french though) since I dont want to link it here send me a PM and I will give you the link to it. I might translate it and send it to the devs so they have more time to work on the next beta mouhahahaha seriously thanks devs for making this port :D I was gonna buy an iphone when my contract expired in december but now I know what I'm getting :)
Guest unh1nged Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Well I got it working on My Storage. Using Linux Mint. It's Ubuntu based so obviously Ubuntu would be fine to use. I installed on SD card, then wrote down the partition info (my SD is 16GB so it matches My Storage sizes) There is are unallocated parts at the beginning and end of drive, I made sure I created them when creating patitions. Then I copied fat32 partition files to a temp folder on my desktop. I then used Gparted to create all the same size partitions on My Storage. Copied files in temp folder from desktop to fat32 partition on My Storage. Then I ran "sudo tar xzvf ext4.tar.gz -C /media/(whatever your ext4 partition is called on My Storage)" in terminal to unpack ext.tar.gz file onto ext4 partition. Then ran haret.exe from My Storage and it booted up. So I basically copied SD format to My Storage except manually unpacking ext4.tar.gz to the ext4 partition. Hope this helps. (Obviously copied start.txt and edited it to 0p2 to 1p2 for My Storage) Edited October 19, 2011 by unh1nged

Guest wlw6600 Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Here it switch to landscape mode (ok, Rotation works), but does not back to portrait mode. PS: About camera, it's working better now (thanks to better 3D performance). But is it normal video recording unable to enable flash? envy you, my camera have never work on b2 or b3,however I install to SDcard or my storage . can you tell me,which WM rom you have been choose, and how do you change the omnia's my storage or sdcard partition?
Guest Job21 Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) 1 - Realize auto installation (before the announcement of bug), and is too slow and lag 2 - The battery drains extremely fast 3 - Work 3G and phone signal 4 - The camera quality is still low Great work also! PS: The beta2 were more fluent agree on the abnormal battery drainage, first checked with 96% of battery play mp3 for 30min a few phone calls (not more than 15 min) 2G / no data transimission after 12 hrs, it's only 24% left may need a bug fix before making B3 for daily use Other part, just amazing, cheers~ And add correct entry in /etc/fstab this is only from my own risk assessment, better not to have the swap partition on my storage, given it would shorten the life time theoretically UPDATE: tried with the fstab editing but seems can't load swap on SD directly, may still need swapper2 to do so UPDATE 2: to have swap run on SD without app, may need additional work / file as following suggested http://forum.xda-dev...913#post4240913 Edited October 20, 2011 by Job21
Guest Job21 Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) ... skipped ... My question is, is it possible to skin android to minimum on boot up, ie with minimum apps and processes. You can run Apps and Processes when you need them later and kill them when finished with them. This will keep the Battery life and RAM usage to an optimum level agreed and actually you've 2 chance of doing that, depends on your knowledge as I wrote before (now maybe 10+ pages ago) 1) if manual install, under ubuntu, delete apk under system\app (in the tar.gz file) / or using "sudo rm" command under terminal 2) in android, with root explorer, do the same thing WARNING: please search around and understand what each apk means before you delete them WARNING 2: must NOT delete setupwizard.apk also, about controlling no. of app at boot-up, try something like autostarts Edited October 20, 2011 by Job21
