Guest purpse Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 It is people like you with these negative comments who destroy the whole idea of the the android open source project. Excuse me sir, this was not a negative comment, it was a question, so pull yourself out of your arse and less of the "people like you"!
Guest the_crevis Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Excuse me sir, this was not a negative comment, it was a question, so pull yourself out of your arse and less of the "people like you"! Look, no need for language, maybe i was a bit harsh back there, true you were just asking, just took it in a negative way, sorry! :P
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Posting this from ics. The cut down version of gapps doesnt flash,it errors out when flashing so going to try the full version now. Standard browser is really slow now for some reason, it was much better previously. Slow scrolling.
Guest Urpo Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 This may be a daft question, but what is the point of ICS on the blade? There are some very good roms already. What will ICS bring that isn't there already apart from plenty of bugs? Is it just a case of " we are doing it because we can"? The point is new features and better performance for both users and developers. Here's a nice summary of these new things: http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-4.0-highlights.html
Guest One Two Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 If people want to take a look before flashing, to see how it's running, I've uploaded a video on youtube. It's the build 15 and I have a 210mb system partition. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=7HT-uIJiguw The quality is more than terrible sorry for that. If someone can do better I would appreciate it Thank you! The video quality is enough to see the smoothness of this version... I think it is a pretty good perfomance from an alpha version so I hope we will get a very good ICS ROM to our ZTE Blade. Thanks guys for you efforts! :)
Guest the_crevis Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 My cut down gapps worked for me :S can someone using ICS flash this in clockworkmod recovery and confirm whether it works or not?: http://db.tt/uR5ebNLm

Thanks guys for you efforts! :) All this is made by t0mm13b and few other devs. There the one we are all gratefull to(speaking for everyone hope you don't mind).
Guest the_crevis Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) This is what happens with my 160mb system: I have got my market app to open and operate fine, but i can not download anything due to insufficient space. This, i believe is because there is no space left on the system partition to download. So i moved my cache to the sdcard using terminal emulator. Now when i try to download an app the market force closes. Just thought i'd give a heads up ;) Edited December 10, 2011 by the_crevis
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 crevis,: thought that was the account fixer. I used that in conjunction with the full gapps and can confirm that market and Gmail works. I downloaded opera mini thru market and its better than native browser for speed at the moment., typing speed is fairly slow on both browsers
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 I have 210mb system, market download is fine

Guest the_crevis Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 I have 210mb system, market download is fine hmm.. i guess on 160mb system there just isn't space left on the system to download :/
Guest liamdunn Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 hmm.. i guess on 160mb system there just isn't space left on the system to download :/ Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought there was a way to "unlock" the extra memory so to speak
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 fonix has placed a 20mb gapps file in the ice repository for download that is set up for our device. it will not flash. I flashed the 60mb version and used your file alongside it. that's what I was referring to sorry . any tips to get super user working so I can try set CPU. saying busy box not found or something similar when trying to update
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 liam, do u mean unlock the ram? memory can be adjusted by tpt flashing only.
Guest liamdunn Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) liam, do u mean unlock the ram? memory can be adjusted by tpt flashing only. Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 super user keeps saying root access failed when I try and update the binary. will try that file you mention. I think security may have been improved so may have to wait for root access
Guest the_crevis Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 I think security may have been improved so may have to wait for root access With the file i linked root access works well, im overclocked on ICS atm.

I think security may have been improved so may have to wait for root access The allow/deny buttons have changed sides in ICS. Make sure you haven't just denied it permission (took me a while or wondering why it wasn't working until I noticed that).
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 over clocked to 672 MHz. that file works. very smooth. gonna test native browser now with the over clock. typing delays are much less now. cheers for that. much nicer rom to use now
Guest liamdunn Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 With the file i linked root access works well, im overclocked on ICS atm. overclock? i wasn't aware that you could overclock with that kernel are you sure your overclocked, it might say you are but doesn't mean you actually are if you get me
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 over clock definitely works as I downloaded a system monitor and it says 672 MHz and the amount of time its been on that frequency
Guest liamdunn Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 over clock definitely works as I downloaded a system monitor and it says 672 MHz and the amount of time its been on that frequency I stand corrected and apologize
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Google maps doesn't appear to work. I can get my location with another app that uses agps but Google maps won't work, won't draw the map, won't get location or download the update for itself, says package not signed
