Hi, Not sure whether this will help with the concern with Bluetooth on fish n chips rls4, i have updated my phone to this release and as reported on here the Bluetooth does not work, my wifes phone which is still running the "For San Francisco 2 ONLY sanfran2kernel.zip" has bluetooth that works fine, unfortunatly i cannot remember whether it was bouncer5 version or flibblesan version, this maybe useless info, but thought id post it just in case...........cheers

Really impressed with “ Fish n Chips” RLS4, well done to everybody who contributed, only concern for me is the lack of working Bluetooth as I use it when I’m driving, can anybody advise whether.

1) A new release with Bluetooth working is imminent, sostick with Fish n Chips.

2) Revert back to my old Rom, as a new release with working Bluetooth could be way off.

3) Should I just download astro blue tooth as mention on here, as there seems to be some confusion if that works ok on, sf2 phones.

Cheers

Raverrr is looking into it. If you are desperate for bluetooth, revert to stock.

For me bluetooth is not realy important to me, but process with 100% cpu process is a real problem.

Maybe it can be useless but, when the 100% cpu problem appearto me, the 3 time, it was when i activate bluetooth by mistake and desactivate it immediately.

-----

As far as im aware i do not have anything on my phone that checks cpu process, however i did notice that when i selected Bluetooth my battery started discharging so quickly i could see the % charge dropping like a stone.......

I try many, many time and can't reproduce it .... so sorry for the noise.

Now , i'll have 80% cpu when activate bluetooth. (no process with hight cpu % visible in 'task' tab from 'Android system info')

I send log from 'Android system info'

Inside you can see many crash of bluetooth.

Hope, it will be usefull for you !

If i can help you, just say me what to do!

EDIT => Adding file log !

Installed FnC RLS4 two days back ...

Brilliant work by raverrr !!!

This is my first upgrade to the FnC ROM.

Impressed by the interface, Nemus launcher appears to be great...

Phone working as smooth as Silk (Set my CPU to 902 Mhz)

A few points which i noted:

1) My battery drains out from 100% to 90% in approx 5-6 minutes.

2) At times i see a slight flicker in the brightness of the screen

3) Notification window does not have any options to enable wifi/bluetooth/data (any other options to get it)

4) bluetooth (known issue)

5) Less internal memory (any option to increase my internal memory)

1) Have you used SmartAssV2 as the CPUGovernor? Antutu CPU Master (Free or Pro versions) seems to be better than SetCPU for this on these phones.

2) Loose case or faulty sensor maybe?

3) This is only available in CyanogenMod at the moment but Raverrr is having a look at merging it into FnC. It looks promising. I use the extended controls widget to do this, it's also got an option for a reboot shortcut which I like cos this is missing but found in CM too.

4) Wait for next release hopefully :)

5) There is a TPT which Amphoras made for the ICS release (read more here) which gives more room, you might want to try this but that will obviously require you to re-flash the FnC rom. You won't, I don't think, be able to use a clockwork backup to do this because of the difference in partition sizes before and after the TPT. You should, however, be able to do a backup with Titanium Backup and then restore once you've reinstalled the rom.

Hope all this helps :)

Hi Raverrr and folks !

I have found a bug that is maybe related to the new EGL libs added in RLS4:

When i use HW decoding in mobo player or MX video player the player can't decode the video. Software mode still works.

Tried on two divx movies.

Stock rom don't had this issue.

Also, one request: Please, can you made a release of the original French Free stock ROM with only root + busybox added and no other changes ?

Have a good day !

At some point that rather nice swirly pattern in R4 and R3 of FnC will be no more. Is their any way I can save it to put it back on til I get sick of the sight of it?

People concerned about battery life,

Install Easy Battery saver

Install Easy Task Killer

Don't install apps that have adverts as they use your WiFi or 3g to get info and drain your battery.

There was an article on bbc news outlining this very problem

I read that, does that mean that ad blockers will stop that or are the apps still gonna waste battery life looking for the adverts tho?

Disable GPS and external data access when running apps should avoid this ads issue =)

Spending some time on this ROM at the weekend. Hoping to get a few things sorted. Will also play with the theme a bit and have another go at the power widget.

I got rid of anything with banner adds, the add stopper might stop the add from being displayed but you would imagine that it will waste power trying to retrieve a blocked IP address.

Apparently app makers have to stop this shortly.

Good news Johnny

I block ads before they come down using OpenDNS on my personal wireless which leaves mobile data vulnerable.
