Guest raverrr Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Eyup chaps, just a small issue I've found with rls5.1, during a call if I move the phone away from my ear to hang up, mute, or use loudspeaker etc, the screen doesn't light up anymore making it impossible to use any of the in-call features. Has anyone else had this issue, in either 5.1 or 6? SF2 by the way. Re-calibrate your proximity sensor. then will be fine
Guest Prettygrim Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 hi all. am in the same situation as irishpancake. knowing the luck i have (if it weren't for the bad luck, i wouldn't have any luck at all), if i try to use the SF2 F&C Rls6 + the Vivacity OC Kernal by Fuzra on the new Vivacity when it turns up tomoro and things go down the tube, as they say, can/how do i get the phone working again? cant afford to have a brand new phone bricked for good. help would be most appreciated.

That way your pretty much covered.
Guest Prettygrim Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 tnx for info, raverrr. just in case that happens to go wrong, the next option would be to do what? download the required files from elsewhere, i assume and somehow install? forgive my pessimism. i work on the assumption that if anything can go wrong, it most definitely will for me! so, where to get the needed files, just in case and how to get them on the phone if CWM dont do as it should? tnx again
Guest fredoche Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 stock minimum freq is 245 so 320 seems legit for playing an mp3. unless i have miss understood you witch is quite possible in my current state :) mp3 is playing nice at 122 mhz. One of the aims, when i install FnC, was improve battery life (not the only one). So i disable dsp. I am not saying remove dsp from FnC (may be i use it in certain circumstance : plug in power supply ....) , i just want notice other people, that dsp eat battery ! Very nice version of FnC.
Guest Dennis Elbow Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Fish-N-Chips RLS4 version (link in the OP) Is this the last / latest version available for the TMV? Thanks
Guest Titas Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Fish-N-Chips RLS4 version (link in the OP) Is this the last / latest version available for the TMV? Thanks Yes but you can flash the latest SFII version Rls 6 - just flash the Vivacity o/c kernel immediately after before rebooting - see post 885 above for links

So have I got this right... D/L Vivacity OC Kernal by Fuzra D/L FnC RLS6 Copy the two zip files to root Boot into recovery Wipe data / factory reset Wipe cache partition Wipe dalvik cache Choose zip from SD (RLS6) Choose zip from SD (Kernal) Reboot Also Just a couple of questions 1) Will RLS6 install over RLS1 (or is that the idea of doing the factory reset / wipe, to delete RLS1?) 2) Before doing the install, I'm still unsure on how to backup everything up? Ive got loads of apps (mostly side loaded) and don't want to have to reload and configure them all again. Ive copied everything over to my laptop, but is there a simpler, better way? Cheers

Cheers Above procedure is correct. I flashed Rls6 over 5.1 wiping only cache & Dalvik cache without problems. However, there's always a risk of conflicts if you do not do a full wipe & the greater the changes between the 2 ROM's the greater the risk of problems. Personally I would strongly suggest you do a full wipe as described above. Before you start get Titanium Backup & backup all your app's - you can then restore USER app's (only) after the new ROM boots (it's worth getting the Pro version as it'll allow you to do a "batch" restore amongst other things). Also be sure to backup your current ROM with CWM so that you can easily revert to it in case of problems. Finally make sure you have plenty of charge in your battery before you begin. Guest rocker1234 Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Trying out the RLS6 release.. Currently on RLS4 (Battery is a problem at present, WIFI drains the battery really fast) Hopefully RLS6 has a great battery backup ..
Guest makemboy Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 (edited) Another excellent rom, cheers to all comcerned :) third time i've flashed my phone in the space of a week, v5, v5.1 and now v6. Titanium Backup is worth it's weight in gold for these rom swaps, just makes it effortless. Keep up the good work everyone :) Edited April 9, 2012 by makemboy

Guest djsupreme Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Good news for any TMV owners in that RLS6 works if you apply the OC Kernel after the ROM. Only problem I have found is that the front facing camera flips image 180 degress. I'm sure I have read this has been a problem before though. can someone point me to the OC Kernal that i need to flash to the TMV after I install RLS 6? i dont mind front facing camera not working

Guest Reider59 Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Try LG Cam from the Market/Play, free version first. See if it reorientates both cams. I`d like a response on this one please, so we can help others too and tell them if the pic is right way up or not with this App. Thanks.....

LG Camera runs fine on my TMV, the back (5 Mpx) camera is OK, no problems there. The front - facing camera (video calls etc) is mirrored - I don't think it is a huge problem but it's good to know. I noticed the same behaviour with my camera app - ProCapture (formerly Camera Advance).

Guest VivacityJohn Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 I used to like the CRT screen off anim. Any chance of uploading something I can flash with CWM to put it back, pretty please
Guest raverrr Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 I used to like the CRT screen off anim. Any chance of uploading something I can flash with CWM to put it back, pretty please I'll have a look tommorow but Ithink i tried this already. If anyone wants to check, decompile the framework using apktool and look in res/values/bools. this line: <bool name="config_animateScreenLights">true</bool> should be like this : <bool name="config_animateScreenLights">false</bool> If this isn't the case then i didnt do it lol
Guest Liamness Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 I was composing a text message, and noticed that in the 'to' bar, there was no button to search my contacts. I could only type in the number myself. I'm now selecting the contact first, and then sending them a message, but it's not ideal. Does anyone else have this issue? It makes no sense.
Guest Reider59 Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 (edited) Give Handcent a go, heaps better than the standard messaging client. Set a new message, click an icon to the far right of To: and you`re in the contact list. Change incoming message sound in Handcent itself, via Handcent/music or wherever you have it. Change incoming phone call tone via normal phone settings then send it VIA Handcent/Music if you wish to change any sounds. I did cos I have "A message from the darkside you have" for messages and "the phone, ringing it is, press the button you must" for incoming phone calls. We had a problem with text at one point, fixed now but some of us adopted it from there on in. https://play.google....andcent.nextsms Its free too..... Edited April 10, 2012 by Reider59
Guest darren watson53 Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 Just a quick question, can I install flash player using only my phone (sf2) and cwm, or do I need to use a PC? I've tried installing the zip from sd card like i did to flash the rom but it failed.
