Guest Stu C Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 I'm new to this particular thread... I assume that even KonstaT new build has the same ICS issues that the other ROMs have, ie full GFX hardware acceleration, some camera functions?

Guest slumslayer Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) I can't get any build to boot since 29/05. They just hang at the boot anim and nothing happens. Cleaning the out/ folder did not fix it, neither did wiping data, ... Anyone having the same issue ? Nevermind, it was my fault, I removed librs_jni because it was in the Live Wallpapers PRODUCT_PACKAGES block. Turns out it is required. Edited May 30, 2012 by slumslayer
Guest Akash P Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Fresh test build. Repo synced after the android_hardware_qcom_display got sorted. Device + patches + 1, 2, 3 and 4. This is a bleeding edge version and it's not for noobs. Don't whine about bugs, I don't care. And please, don't hijack this thread to discuss about this ROM! KonstaT, This ROM is incredible! I managed to trim it down further so that ROM+Gaaps fit in a 119MB partition. Everything works perfectly here! Amazed at the smoothness of your build! Thank you very much.

Guest razzmataz1478 Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) Do the props need to be in the directory above cm9? To explain further, the steps in the op say cd ... Obviously cd means to go to ~ and in the op the cm9 tree is a ~/cm9 whereas mine is at ~/android/cm9 so would my props needs to be at ~/android? Is it necessary to use ccache as I don't really have much hard drive space...? :s Are the props meant to at: ../cm9/vendor/zte/skate/skate/ Edited June 1, 2012 by razzmataz1478
Guest shmizan Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 unbelievable.. for a long hour I was deleting the out folder, reverting kernel changes and what not, because my build failed at: hardware/qcom/display/liboverlay/overlayLibUI.cpp:269: error: 'MDP_BACKEND_COMPOSITION' was not declared in this scope make: *** [out/target/product/blade/obj/SHARED_LIBRARIES/liboverlay_intermediates/overlayLibUI.o] Error 1 finally after going into gerrit what did I see if not Steve messing with qcom display again... http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/16891/
Guest sej7278 Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 finally after going into gerrit what did I see if not Steve messing with qcom display again... http://review.cyanog....com/#/c/16891/ ffs, someone buy steve a lower end phone than he's used to, maybe he'd actually test his commits then. cyanogenmod might as well just be aosp the way google/samsung are the only really supported phones.
Guest tilal6991 Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 Copy the updated header from http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/16948/ and put in include/linux in the device dir.
Guest slumslayer Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 I'm lucky, I've synced just before this commit. For now on, I'm going to apply the 'android_hardware_qcom_display commit by Steve K., wait a couple of days before building' policy. Btw, http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/16721/ http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/16722/ and http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/16861/ are really nice, Messaging app is way less laggy now.
Guest shmizan Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) Copy the updated header from http://review.cyanog....com/#/c/16948/ and put in include/linux in the device dir. tried it last night with same errors (clean out folder as well). worked for you? edit: I put it in the wrong dir. trying again now Edited June 2, 2012 by shmizan

Guest sej7278 Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) Or just simply this. https://github.com/K...8d05ccf01f4df0b same as what the htc guys did: http://review.cyanog....com/#/c/16978/ yuk, i don't like tom_g's new mini patch: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/16984/ i'd rather remove the videos/ringtones at build time than have the installer check if my /system is 210mb+ (which mine is, and i still don't want the videos!) Guest archish Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Another fresh test build. Same trimmed down philosophy as before. Device + Patches + This brilliant and very usefull patch :P + 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. I left in all of the LatinIME dictionaries this time. With medium gapps system size is ~136mb. You can still save ~10mb by trimming the LatinIME dictionaries that you don't need. update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-blade-KonstaKANG-020612-signed.zip http://www.mediafire...6qau4w21et2s5vh md5:0ed9f1aeb5e2085031996c642f17aafc gapps-ics-medium-20120429-signed.zip http://www.mediafire...lgq5h4r12ca7n52 md5:622c40820cd1706b0fe38889beab3e64 Nice rom! just missing softkeys :)
Guest jeddy1 Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Nice rom! just missing softkeys :) go and search them somewhere else :P some complain about soft keys so better roms come without them ;)

Great ROM so far. Only one issue I came across is that I cannot edit light levels. No more problems found after 4 hours of extreme using. Keep up good work! :) EDIT// and one more issue: system cannot read QR codes....could you, please, look at it? Thanks :) Edited June 3, 2012 by matcho13579

I disagree. it sounds like a good idea. of course I'd prefer to have a smaller zip to begin with but I don't really care that much. this benefits most users and Tom has to think about that. it removes everything the mini patch does (maybe even more). I'm gonna re-TPT my phone soon anyway (I have 190 now and only using 140 after medium trimmage). in the worst case, you can still use the original mini patch
Guest targetbsp Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 I prefer TomG's way cause we'll end up saving more than mini phone once more useless stuff is added to extras.txt You could re-TPT to 209. But surely the idea of wanting to save system space is that you will be TPTing down to something even lower to recover data space?
Guest sej7278 Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 this fixes barcode scanner on recent builds - it was just the line 355 "else if" should be an "if" as discussed on gerrit barcode.patch.zip
Guest sej7278 Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 Why don't you send it in? tom_g's looking into it, he said there's more problems than that as eventually it crashes. i noticed its pretty damned slow, so suspected it had a memory leak or some sort of debugging overload.
Guest shmizan Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 great job getting answers to this and the qcom mdp issue too sej! an opportunity well spotted on gerrit :D

Yes I know I'm getting the emails for that change as well. I posted the question before Tom's answer, I thought that it could be a working solution.

I can't see any of the problems Tom G is talking about. No unusual errors in logs, I left the barcode scanner on for 15 minutes and it never crashed. Preview in barcode scanner app is slow because it's constantly scanning. In google goggles it's as good as in regular camera app. Well, at least he's looking into it - again... I added a switch to toggle the navbar on and off yesterday, works great. :) Also testing this Sense 4.0 style Multitasking mod. Looks good but it's a bit laggy. Probably won't include in my builds in the future but I'll still include it in the next one I release.
