Ha, I've found the cause.

Boid requires "android.hardware.camera.autofocus" feature, which is not listed in this rom:

# aapt dump badging com.boidforandroid.appbeta_1.apk


...

uses-feature:'android.hardware.camera'

uses-feature:'android.hardware.camera.autofocus'

...

So, if you replace

/system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.camera.xml

with

/system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.camera.flash-autofocus.xml

from stock rom (or any stock-based rom, I took mine from VillainROM zip)

- Boid (and, probably, a lot of other apps) will become compatible with the device.

This Rom saves battery better than all tweaked and stock Rom.

That may have done it for me. I think I'll be flashing this tonight. My Singapore device is still on 1.28, and I love me some CM9 (especially with proper power managament).

Hey guys,

Thanks for the hard work on this ROM. It's so much smoother than Sense4.

I have a couple of noob questions & I can't find answers through searching.

Is it possible to update this ROM when future versions come out, without scrubbing all my data & apps?

Also, I can't get the Min & Max Cpu spped setting to stick even tho Set on Boot is ticked. I was just trying to underclock a little to save battery.

Any ideas?

No idea, if it has to do with different phone versions or the fact I backup all user apps and data before every flash (maybe some wrong codes are getting reinjected ?!) But at every conversation the opposit person say's he's hearing an echo...

Do you mean without any restore ? Or just wipe before installing v006 (isn't it wiping everthing from itself ?)

It's on everyone's phone and it's related to sound volume too high (and not adjustable) during phone calls so voice returns circularly on microphone.

edit: If you don't mind me asking, is there anything fundamentally different in this rom compared to TripnDroid? I've had significantly better battery life on Tripndroid for some reason (pretty much equal use), actually the best battery life out of al roms (4-5 hours screen on time).

Picture quality is s***, nothing you can do about it. It doesn't have HTC Image sense which does hell lot of a job, as well as stock sense app, lets just say... i couldn't take a perfect earlier this morning because it was too bright and camera couldn't do what it does on stock,

I'd recommend shot control or fv-5 from the market, they both take pretty good pics with the HOX camera with manual controls.

Found a few bugs:

• MHL works fine but piture is fliped 90 degrece
  
• Can not adjust volume while making phonecalls
  
• Phones can go to sleep during calls and then drops them
  
• Black screen on orientation change

I have done that and no market issue now but the camera resolution on skype is very bad.
