Kernel Basics HERE , KErnel modules are used for example as a driver for HW...They will be loaded in the Kernel if necessary

btw: Trip told us he will remove sweep2wipe from the kernel... i think its a good decision because it has a lot of bugs

sweep2wipe is very usefull, pitty if it going to be off the future kernel...

This phone is a pain in the *** to turn on and off, the button is really in a bad place. The one on SGS2 was really more in handy, so this MOD is really a great thing ;) a big plus!

can someone test with 012 + franco r4 Kernel with antutu benchmark their SD Write speed ?? Mine is on 9mb/sec (thats really low) normally i get over 30... the rest is fine

My device is perfect with franco kernel.

The heat issue has gone and the device is stable and the Rom now is acceptable for daily use.

Trying to add an attachment to a message or clicking share from the gallery causes messaging to force close.

I agree with you, but the deep sleep issues are horrible... it would be nice... but only when it´s stable...xD

Yeah, to be honest I think it's just Sweep2Wake that's causing my issues. I've just been trying the latest s2w-free Bricked kernel on ARHD with no heat issues, so it must just be s2w (it always seemed a bit silly to keep the device awake for touchscreen monitoring to me!) Restored to CM9 but with the repacked franco kernel and it seems good now.

I was wondering, and this may be a general AOSP question, how to adjust the haptic feedback? I found that I actually like the HTC Sense level compared to the rather strong CM/AOSP one.

Only one downer, the button lights are always one, with trip kernel they only got on when we touch them... the right way for me.

You can change the backlight settings yourself on CM9 including the softkeys. Settings>Display>Automatic backlight>Use Custom>Edit other levels. Change the button levels to 0, no more backlit softkeys.

fastboot flash boot the kernel

boot into recovery and install the modules zip

reboot the system

Can anyone who is running the franco kernel on 012 play an .mp4 file, I get a load then an instant crash using dice player. I created the boot image myself using zImage injector and Everything else is buttery smooth, shame really. I'm not surprised just wondering if video is working for anyone else, same thing happens with streaming video (using dice player, btw ). Looking forward to a Noeri's new kernel w/o sleep2wake, way to gimmicky for me plus it wakes up the cpu anytime a capacitive source touches the screen.
