Does it matter what model whether G510-100, G510-200, y300 when flashing Roms

I was wondering whether it made a difference, which Huawei ascend model G510-100, G510-200 or y300 . when flashing any Roms?

Does that mean some models can't flash some Roms?

You shouldn't use the UPDATE.APP method for loading firmware if you've got a different model (Y300-0100 vs Y300-0151 for example), as it will overwrite the baseband on your handset which may not support the frequencies in your market (for 3G). Custom ROMs loaded via TWRP should generally be safe.
