I know that when I downgraded from ICS (Stock+) to GB (AtomicMod then slim then superslim) initially I had NO carrier access at all - i.e. no carrier signal so no calls, texts, data.

I reflashed and rebooted a few times and it eventually worked.

I'm sure that I did all wipes/formats each time but maybe I made a mistake along the way.

Ultimately it eventually worked - even though I panicked a bit when I lost carrier access first... :D

But I never had a case of mobile/carrier access working but 3G specifically not working...

I don't know if it matters but the downgrade zip that I used installs the GB B895baseband, bootloader and RIL

3G working just fine for me, both on 109808 and 2030 baseband.

How is the sound volume on ringtones? I remember the original B895 rom, the sound was too low you hardly could hear your phone ringing.

coming from ics to this nice rom, i am with unofficially unlocked bootloader, so will report after day if i have any 3G reboots.

for now i can say that it's really fast o.O

 

EDIT: ok there is somekind of strange error "package file was not signed correctly", how to solve this one? happens on 2 apps already on play store

EDIT3: so for whole day(almost :D) phone is perfectly fine and fast, installed several apps, used internet, listened to music, made few calls and sent messages all day, didn't saw any 3G problems and as i stated before, my phone is with unofficially unlocked bootloader and baseband 2030

I think the package error is due to the fact that some apps are not compatible with GB. When I restored my titanium backup backups, I couldn't install some apps and I think I got that error as well...

 

I don't know about the bar, wondering the same thing!

I use the widget and find it an adequate replacement for the ICS notification bar toggles.

It also has notification bar support but I don't really like the way it works myself.

You should be careful about restoring backed up apps/data from another ROM - especially another revision (e.g. ICS onto GB) as it may cause problems.

The "package file not signed correctly" is almost certainly not a problem with this ROM itself so it's most likely down to something that you are doing.

well i just opened play store, search for app and when i found i just installed it and there was error

 

about notification, well i want to completely replace it and with power toggles on gb in notification bar it's not working(well it works but in kinda strange way, you can try it yourself)

What apps are crashing?

Are you sure that the ROM zip was intact and not corrupted/truncated when you downloaded it before flashing it?

I don't know if/how you can completely replace the GB notification bar with another version.

I've noticed that sometimes the ringing volume starts normally and then, after a few seconds, it drops to a really low level.

I wonder why is this happening? Anyone else having this issue?

Even I got these Play Store errors. "App cannot be installed due to error XYZ".

 

One way to fix it is:

 

Step 1: Remove your current Google Account (I will be referring to it as GA1) that you have set up in your phone

Step 2: Reboot

Step 3: Add a new google account (I will be referring to it as GA2) (using a different gmail)

Step 4: Open Play Store. And see if you can install apps or not.

Step 5: If you see that errors are gone now, then install a few apps.

Step 6: Remove the GA2 from Settings>Accounts and Sync

Step 7: Reboot

Step 6: Create GA1 in Settings>Accounts and Sync> Add account

Step 8: Wait for 10 minutes with data connectivity enabled

Step 9: Go to play store and try installing an app and see if it works.

 

This process worked for me. Give it a try if you want/ have time.

Now that I see you talking about downgrading: I bought my phone with ics, then flashed some ics ROMs and now I'm happy with superslim, but I've never done any downgrading, I just flashed the rom.

 

Should I? What would change? Just being able to OC?

It happened with all apps I tired installing from Play Store. But as I said, the procedure I mentioned fixed it for me.

Spirit seems to work, although I cannot find any station... probably it's due to the fact that I'm Argentinian

Also, can you make the Huawei Music App so the background color changes according to the color of the cover?

Just like the original Huawei Music App, with yours the background (equalizer) is always blue.

Thanks Dovahpig (and jsevi) for this rom. After a year with my G300 and the slow stock I made the jump and modded my phone. Your ROM was what I was looking for. I carefully followed the instruction to unblock the bootIoader and install TWRP before the ROM, and all worked fine at the first attempt.

 

I have installed all my apps and all are working fine. GPS is fast in Finland as well. I have just two comments.

I am using Opera Classic as my browser which is now good enough (it wasn't before), any other light and fast browser recommended?

The GB Gmail app is a bit dated, any chances of getting the newer versions?
