Guest fonz93 Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Settins - memory - menu - select mass storage
Guest arsalan11 Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Settins - memory - menu - select mass storagethanks but there is no memory option in settings:-? if your mean is storage there is just an option to set primary storage and secondary.
Guest GonzaloG Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 No, menĂº means the menu button in your phone
Guest fonz93 Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 thanks but there is no memory option in settings:-? if your mean is storage there is just an option to set primary storage and secondary. Then edit build.prop, search the line that says mtp,adb and set mass_storage,adb
Guest m2293 Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Hi dazzozo i would like to thank you for working on KitKat for our y300 ... I was just wondering if you know how long will it take to make KitKat completely working ...just curious ... and thank you again :)
Guest icyice803 Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 OFFTOPIC : Got my hands on official 4.4 launcher you can find a tutorial on Android Authority it's majestic as fck
Guest MadHatterRyu Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Hi dazzozo i would like to thank you for working on KitKat for our y300 ... I was just wondering if you know how long will it take to make KitKat completely working ...just curious ... and thank you again :) Â dev can take forever.. thing is, you can always use opensource drivers that are up and about.. or look at similar devices that have had theirs ported and get pointers.. doing something without a reference is to an extent shooting in the dark.. Â Indeed.. there will always be some amount of shooting in the dark as far as porting something goes.. DOUBLY so if you are the first to do it.. Â At the same time, google's tools provided are better than ever! for all you know, we'll hit a usable beta within the next few days.. but dont expect ALL folds to get ironed out.. Â the LAST few solutions to the LAST few problems more often than not.. come to you.. not the other way around.. Â Â good thing is however.. Infernape763 and Asis92 are ALSO working on it... lets see how things go!
Guest TayoOnabule Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Not likely. But since it's optimized for lower end devices like ours as well as high end devices, it's possible that friendly devs (like Dazz and Infernape and Asis) would assist us in developing it for us. Edited November 4, 2013 by TayoOnabule
Guest MadHatterRyu Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 heres a question,,as kitkat is also going to be aimed at lower end mobiles..wont it officialy be released for our y300 dont you think?? Â Â no.. it isnt aimed at lower end mobiles.. its just got enough tools like Zram and google spent a while killing off a lot of bloat so that lower end mobiles can take it.. by NO MEANS does it mean its aimed at lower ends.. give it to a good mobile with a good config and you wont need stuff like swap.. you'll just pack a SERIOUS punch all the way.. Â secondly, however biding the hardware is to an OS, its ALL pointless if there are no DRIVERS which is our biggest problem at the moment.. the Open source drivers should be enough with time... Â hope that answers your question
Guest Dazzozo Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 msm7x27a is still deprecated 4.2+. You won't see anything above 4.1 for this SoC and anything based on this SoC.

Guest TayoOnabule Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 While you're talking about all this guys, would you mind telling me where to start when it comes to developing. I'm 15 sooo yeah.Â

I'm 15 sooo yeah. 15s a great age.. are you familiar with Java? AND do you have a spare phone? I'd recommend an OLD phone thats seen generations.. so you dont lose important stuff if you brick it.. AND you get experience doing stuff.. you can start with playing around with a rooted phone.. try playing with romkitchen first  http://uot.dakra.lt/  then you could try playing with xposed... get to know how things work... learn about the files.. then try porting stuff from stock rom as base.. then go to porting CM or AOSP.. there are well documented guides on XDA on just how..
