Guest rederik75 Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 As a workaround, just throw your extra system apps in here and flash after updating. (zip courtesy of Tillaz) GREAT! Thank you, I'll try with the next nightly...

Guest nirmalbalaji Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Hi everybody. Installed this great ROM on my HUAWEI G510 and all works fine. Only one question: photosphere in camera app seems not to be working (even not visible the photosphere icon in camera app) . Is this normal or maybe there's some troubleshhoting to activate it ? Thanks anyway for the good work. Fabio ;-) Photo Sphere is not supported in Y300 and G510 because of the lack of Gyroscope sensor in both the mobiles.
Guest m2293 Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 man you're wrong ... photo sphere works on our device because i just used it so i don't know what you're talking about ... it works on ominrom (the rom i'm trying now) and it worked when i flashed cm 10,2

Gyroscope sensor is a must for Photo Sphere to work. Y300 and G510 don't have that sensor. You better know the specifications of Y300/G510 first. I think you are talking about Panorama which is a non moving photo.

Guest ericchanlol Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Hi.. love CM 10.2. Three cheers for this ROM. i had hard time getting used to the stock one. Questions: 1) What's the best settings for battery life. When on data it's amazing to see the batt meter count down so fast! 2) Messaging : i keep on getting error 'Message Not SEnt' - so is this a known bug? then i gotta re-boot. have just updated to Nightly 20131113 so lets hope it gets better! (and now i just discovered there's 15nov nightly so downloading it. so good.) Edited November 15, 2013 by ericchanlol
Guest HannesBK Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 Hi, this ROM is great, Is there a chance that NFC will run sometime?
Guest kmau Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 Hi, this ROM is great, Is there a chance that NFC will run sometime? But if our phone doesn't have a NFC sensor, how can a ROM fix that?
Guest cvele992 Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 There are some versions of our phone with NFC sensor.
Guest rederik75 Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 There are some versions of our phone with NFC sensor. I have a Y300-0100, and a sensor test app reports a "proximity sensor" (at least, that's a rough translation from italian) ...
Guest bogdanwp Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 G510 has NFC. Proximity sensor is the sensor that shuts off the screen when you`re placing a call and you take the phone next to the ear.
Guest rederik75 Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 As a workaround, just throw your extra system apps in here and flash after updating. (zip courtesy of Tillaz) GREAT! Thank you, I'll try with the next nightly... It didn't work. Better to explain, not to be misunderstood... It actually installs the apk in /system/app, but the app doesn't survive a CM10 update and has to be installed again after the update. Anyway, it may be useful to batch install multiple apps in /system, if needed... I'm searching something different, as I would like my app to pass through the update process, keeping the seetings and data... Maybe I've found the way: Wandering through the folders I've found /system/addon.d/ that contains three files: 50-cm.sh, 70-gapps.sh, and blacklist. The first two are scripts that I think are used to keep things safe before formatting /system as cm-update does. Here are the first lines of 50-cm.sh: #!/sbin/sh # # /system/addon.d/50-cm.sh # During a CM10 upgrade, this script backs up /system/etc/hosts, # /system is formatted and reinstalled, then the file is restored. # . /tmp/backuptool.functions And here is the content of 70-gapps.sh: #!/sbin/sh # # /system/addon.d/70-gapps.sh # . /tmp/backuptool.functions list_files() { cat <<EOF app/ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk app/ConfigUpdater.apk app/GenieWidget.apk app/Gmail.apk app/GmsCore.apk app/GoogleBackupTransport.apk app/GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk app/GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk app/GoogleEars.apk app/GoogleFeedback.apk app/GoogleLoginService.apk app/GoogleOneTimeInitializer.apk app/GooglePartnerSetup.apk app/GooglePlus.apk app/GoogleServicesFramework.apk app/GoogleTTS.apk app/LatinImeDictionaryPack.apk app/MediaUploader.apk app/NetworkLocation.apk app/Phonesky.apk app/QuickSearchBox.apk app/SetupWizard.apk app/Provision.apk app/Talkback.apk app/VoiceSearchStub.apk etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml etc/permissions/com.google.android.media.effects.xml etc/permissions/com.google.widevine.software.drm.xml etc/permissions/features.xml etc/preferred-apps/google.xml etc/g.prop framework/com.google.android.maps.jar framework/com.google.android.media.effects.jar framework/com.google.widevine.software.drm.jar lib/libAppDataSearch.so lib/libfilterpack_facedetect.so lib/libfrsdk.so lib/libgames_rtmp_jni.so lib/libgoggles_clientvision.so lib/libgoogle_recognizer_jni.so lib/libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so lib/libgtalk_jni.so lib/libgtalk_stabilize.so lib/libjni_latinime.so lib/libjni_t13n_shared_engine.so lib/libpatts_engine_jni_api.so lib/libplus_jni_v8.so lib/librs.antblur_constant.so lib/librs.antblur_drama.so lib/librs.antblur.so lib/librs.drama.so lib/librs.film_base.so lib/librs.fixedframe.so lib/librs.grey.so lib/librs.image_wrapper.so lib/librsjni.so lib/librs.retrolux.so lib/libRSSupport.so lib/libspeexwrapper.so lib/libvcdecoder_jni.so lib/libvorbisencoder.so lib/libwebp_android.so lib/libwebrtc_audio_coding.so tts/lang_pico/de-DE_gl0_sg.bin tts/lang_pico/de-DE_ta.bin tts/lang_pico/es-ES_ta.bin tts/lang_pico/es-ES_zl0_sg.bin tts/lang_pico/fr-FR_nk0_sg.bin tts/lang_pico/fr-FR_ta.bin tts/lang_pico/it-IT_cm0_sg.bin tts/lang_pico/it-IT_ta.bin usr/srec/en-US/c_fst usr/srec/en-US/classifier usr/srec/en-US/clg usr/srec/en-US/compile_grammar.config usr/srec/en-US/contacts.abnf usr/srec/en-US/dict usr/srec/en-US/dictation.config usr/srec/en-US/dnn usr/srec/en-US/endpointer_dictation.config usr/srec/en-US/endpointer_voicesearch.config usr/srec/en-US/ep_acoustic_model usr/srec/en-US/g2p_fst usr/srec/en-US/google_hotword.config usr/srec/en-US/grammar.config usr/srec/en-US/hclg_shotword usr/srec/en-US/hmm_symbols usr/srec/en-US/hmmlist usr/srec/en-US/hotword_normalizer usr/srec/en-US/hotword_word_symbols usr/srec/en-US/metadata usr/srec/en-US/norm_fst usr/srec/en-US/normalizer usr/srec/en-US/offensive_word_normalizer usr/srec/en-US/phone_state_map usr/srec/en-US/phonelist usr/srec/en-US/rescoring_lm usr/srec/en-US/wordlist EOF } case "$1" in backup) list_files | while read FILE DUMMY; do backup_file $S/$FILE done ;; restore) list_files | while read FILE REPLACEMENT; do R="" [ -n "$REPLACEMENT" ] && R="$S/$REPLACEMENT" [ -f "$C/$S/$FILE" ] && restore_file $S/$FILE $R done ;; pre-backup) # Stub ;; post-backup) # Stub ;; pre-restore) # Stub ;; post-restore) # Stub ;; esac So, the plan is to add the line app/CarHomeGoogle.apk in the list, cross the fingers, and update to the next nightly.
