1. Install CM10.2 By Dazzozo.

2. Disable ZRam (It should be off by default).

3. Install RamExpander V2.0+

4. Let it select the "optimal" amount of swap space for you, or select 512mb.

5. Wait for a minute or two while it creates your swap partition.

6. You're all set; now you've a phone with over a gig of ram!

I hope that helped. :)

Ehm, no.

I followed your tutorial, I set up the swap partition and when I use the terminal emulator and type "free" it shows that only a few swap MBs are used (most of the swap partition was free) and most of the memory is taken from the actual ram size.

There was no big difference in terms of performance anyway.

If you want it to swap more you should do this :

in settings > fusionx> performance >advanced settings tab > under VM settings , there is an option "swappiness" , it defines how much android uses swap file ,0 mean it doesn't swap, and 100 means it swaps as much as you have set the swap size. i think default is 20,I use 40 so it swaps up to 40mb when I'm not multitasking a lot .

In case anyone was wondering, this does actually work with pre-2.0 versions. But if you find that it works well for you, then buy then buy the app, it's worth it ;)
