Guest h3dshot Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) hedshot, luckily i think all are rootable but some are harder than others. Did you not do a CWM backup as suggested to you yesterday. ;) Thats what i was trying to do this morning when i realised i dont have SU anymore and that my firmware has changed lmao edit: installed the vroot app for pc and managed to root it after randomly clicking on chinese buttons lmao. Phone is now properly rooted and i'll continue where i left off to get a cwm backup made :D Edited June 1, 2014 by h3dshot
Guest dakok Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 If you have missed CWM, then Framaroot - Barahir Here are chinese root tools
Guest h3dshot Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 If you have missed CWM, then Framaroot - Barahir Here are chinese root tools Thanks but the vroot application for pc re-rooted for me. Installed mobileuncle and the correct recovery image. I now have root+cwm, currently making a backup. (Already installed gapps when i had original root)
Guest goodfella123 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Good stuff, that was less painful than it could have turned out to be!
Guest h3dshot Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Good stuff, that was less painful than it could have turned out to be! haha yeah I know ^^ Cwm backup made and I put a copy of it in my pc. Has anyone got a list of safe Chinese apps to remove from system?
Guest qwazar87 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 @qwazar Which guide did you use? I posted two of them. Don't get excited so much. Take it easy. :) You copied the lines from flashing guide. It works as I flashed over 30 roms that way. Make the CWM backup first! This one goes at the end, not in the middle: advanced → wipe dalvik cache Then reboot recovery It may work the other way too and with less format/clean/wipe, but I like it this way :) Color OS is on my phone and there is no problem with it :) Gives a little bit more free memory than Miui. Give it a try.. I have used Soda's Factory Rom 015 Flash Tutorial & Tools But I understand now whats was wrong. The deal is in additional comport device. According to manual I presse volume up- not work) Then I pressed both volumes buttons- the process comes))) I see that additional com port - for me was comport number7 - was install and flashing begin. But also later was installed comport number 3 - in in the same usb port.- was mistake B_ROM ERROR So I think there need to install 2 comport for one usb port. I have install 015 version Now I use MIUI 4.5.16 Multilanguage for Coolpad F1 8297W (WCDMA + TD-SCDMA) v02 by Emjot & Tiger Thanks
Guest Rosz Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Hello Guys, How did you find the battery life in the different ROMs? I am currently using the "Samsung" ROM from jonzalvo which is Android 4.3. I have used only this ROM and I cant compare to others. (by the way I have heard that Android 4.3 have some issues with battery draining ...) Thanks for your comments.

Battery life on stock is brilliant in comparison to my s2 :D I charged it yesterday after 2-3 days of moderate use
Guest dakok Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Color OS has a low battery consumption too. @qwazar Could you explain more about that com port thing, please.
Guest emjot Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) MIUI v.4.5.30 with changed camera APK is now uploaded on needrom. Happy using! Now testing another Color OS release. Previous one was looking very good but it wasn't fluent. This one is extremely good, so far. Coolpad F1 Color OS Rom (Oppo OS) Link Download - for a fast download, check this (Fast China Download) I am sick of uploading so do not ask for mirrors, please! :) Use installation instructions from here After the rom download I opened it with WinRar and went into data/app folder, selected all apps there (do not delete camera app - aoyou20140506.apk) and deleted them. It slimmed down rom for more than 100MB. Color os is great, very fluent, with lots of bells and whistles. Didn't try everything yet, but it seems to be very promising. Emjot, if you are reading this - please try it. :D First link is not working (404)... Edited June 2, 2014 by emjot
Guest pletko Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 @dakok tried it last night, my second sim wasn't recognized AT ALL. anyway, flashed jonzalvo's aosp 1.1 but comparing it to note3 port, i find that aosp has much weaker reception. i only wish i could flash the modem from note3 to this one... also, wifi signal reception seems to be weaker...
Guest dakok Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Hmm, to be honest, I didn't try second SIM since I don't use it. But everything else in this Color OS is good. Edited June 2, 2014 by dakok
Guest pletko Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 why are they constantly overcomplicating stuff? another rom with no keyboard. no way of connecting to wifi either. no way to login to my google account... bah... next rom please...
Guest dakok Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Please concentrate, that data folder had keyboard (chinese - what else :)) and my short guide tells you to use another keyboard. Why on the earth would chinese developer use a latin keyboard when developing a rom for the China users? It makes no sense :) An experienced flasher has to have a spare keyboard, camera, cwm, IMEI backup, rom backup and a gapps or two on the SD card. Then the life gets very easy... @ Emjot It seems that First Job (the name of developer) removed previous version. This is a new version: Coolpad F1 WCDMA Color OS 24.05. by First Job Download If there is /data folder with apks inside - delete apks with Winrar (just open zip (rom), navigate to /data, delete apks and close winrar) Prepare your own keyboard and camera on the SD card before flashing You will install them thru Color OS file manager P.S. If this rom is similar to previous release, then you can keep china keyboard and camera Camera: aoyou20140506.apk Keyboard: something with letters: IME P.P.S. First Job has a lot of stuff in his Baidu Drive For example, this ones: Great God F1 015 official overseas Unicom version of the package Great God F1 Google Unicom native Overseas Edited June 2, 2014 by dakok
Guest pletko Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) jeez.... over 700 mb... Please concentrate, that data folder had keyboard (chinese - what else :)) and my short guide tells you to use another keyboard. Why on the earth would chinese developer use a latin keyboard when developing a rom for the China users? It makes no sense :) yeah... maybe cause most of the world use latin? :) An experienced flasher has to have a spare keyboard, camera, cwm, IMEI backup, rom backup and a gapps or two on the SD card. Then the life gets very easy... did it, what else? :) downloading the new version of color, hope to have better reception. tried miui once more and all of the reception seems poor, even wifi seems worse... erm.. how do you change launcher on miui? Edited June 2, 2014 by pletko
Guest dakok Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 When you delete that stuff from /data folder it will be at least 100MB slimmer :D
Guest pletko Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) ok but is there a way to change the launcher in miui? edit nvm, google solved it :) Edited June 2, 2014 by pletko
Guest slime00 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) someone would be capable of updating kernel, radio and libraries from the last 081 offical coolpad release to the pure AOSP? After trying all available roms I think it's the one that runs better with this mobile, but it's not updated sice it's release, and many official updates have surfaced in these months. Even a guide for updating those things would be useful, since I don't know how to start without making a mess. Thanks! Edited June 2, 2014 by slime00
Guest goodfella123 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Pletko, Yes go to display in settings and change default launcher after you have installed an alternative. Edited June 2, 2014 by goodfella123
Guest dakok Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 yeah... maybe cause most of the world use latin? :) That would be fine if they planned this phone for the world. But they didn't. Coolpad f1 wcdma is meant for China Unicom network. We are simply lucky that it is compatible with EU mobile networks. So don't be mad at their developers for neglecting overseas F1 owners. They might even don't know about us at all :D
Guest slime00 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 actually they don't. I've seen some comments about pure AOSP from chinese users, they really were surprised on how the phone made it overseas!
Guest slime00 Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 I talked with one of the responsibles in Coolpad chinese forum, they told me they planned to release 4.4.2, but for some reason works for F1 are suspended, will ask more about it if he replies. He told me they are about to launch CoolUI 6, but they still don't know if F1 will use it. Really disappointed from what I heard, the phone is only a couple of months old and it could already be abandoned!
Guest dakok Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Coolpad has 100 different phones models, at least. How did you manage to register there? I was asked for my phone number or post address during the registration. (both were for China residents, I guess)
Guest slime00 Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 I don't remember now, but I only used my email and a password (maybe doing it with google translate will help). BTW, Coolpad's flagship models right now are the two Halos: our F1 and the bigger one. If they don't mind updating their best ones, for sure it doesn't look promising!
