Guest dakok Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) korekore1: Now that cpb kitkat is out, there will be a lot of people that will want to try to flash via YGDP and they will all ask the same questions leading to a flooded thread Kitkat for Coolpad F1 is out for more than one month but nevermind, here's guide for YGDP Tool flashing. Again. 1. Coolpad Stock Rom in CPB format (choose 8297w CPB - 009 is KK) 2. YGDP Tool with drivers 3. Install PDAnet, Coolpad-140208 and Vcom_Driver_Autoinstall 4. Install YGDP Tool, use 369 as password 5. Open YGDP, Config, Set download files (left) 6. Select 8297w 7. Select your rom CPB file (right) and click on Apply button 8. Wait 9. When completed it goes to start menu. Click the Start icon now 10. Switch off the phone and connect it to the PC / laptop with USB cable, the progress bar will appear. Wait for green progress bar to appear If you have win 8.x, try korekore's guide for driver installation korekore1: YGDP rom installation instructions are very badly written/translated Once again, which part of that PDF guide is badly written/translated? (except for drivers installation) I have FuntouchOS now. Very nice and fast rom if you don't mind green notification for everything :D Edited September 26, 2014 by dakok

Are you sure there were no failed tests?
Guest Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 once again i need to ask, how to change stock recovery image with a custom image in YGDP tools???
Guest dalyer Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 once again i need to ask, how to change stock recovery image with a custom image in YGDP tools??? Explained here: http://www.modaco.com/topic/372543-coolpad-f1-8297w-review-info-software-custom-roms/?view=findpost&p=2228712 http://www.modaco.com/topic/372543-coolpad-f1-8297w-review-info-software-custom-roms/?view=findpost&p=2228751
Guest dakok Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) When you open CPB rom file in YGDP and click Apply, it soon extracts to a temporary YLXZGJ folder on C: drive. It creates a sub folder there, I don't know the name now, I think it is Downfile or similar and inside there are rom folders and stock recovery. I think it was recovery.img You replace it with your custom recovery.img (CWM) and go back to YGDP and proceed with flashing Borsosg reported this as successful procedure and several other members too... (except for drivers installation) I have FuntouchOS now. Very nice and fast rom if you don't mind green notification for everything :D Well, the pdf instructions tell you to choose model 8297w-s10 instead of 8297w and that leads to an error and you can't proceed.Apart from that its pretty straight forward procedure. It was mainly the driver procedure that was confusing. Kitkat official pcb was not out a month ago,the date of the pcb is 24th of september! Anyway,i installed kitkat successfully with windows 8 64bit following my driver guide so it works, anyone with windows 8 64bit can use it without issues
Guest dakok Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Ok, I'm moving win8 guide to the first page :) To be correct it is not "pcb" but CPB and Coolpad F1 4.4.2 kitkat CPB releases are alive from August 14th: 4.4.013.P1.140814.8297.CPB 4.4.016.P1.140821.8297.CPB 4.4.017.P1.140827.8297.CPB 4.4.021.P1.140912.8297 (1).CPB 4.4.023.P1.140918.8297.CPB All perfectly usable with WCDMA fix (again, topic's first page) and then WCDMA release kicks in: 4.4.009.P0.140924.8297W.CPB All downloadable from here (again, topic's first page) Edited September 26, 2014 by dakok
Guest korekore1 Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) so are the non wcdma kitkat versions better than our 09?i think coolui 5.7 feels a bit slower than 5.5,anyone noticed? Edited September 26, 2014 by korekore1
Guest johnickz Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 I am interested in 3d very much. What to do with the KitKat releases if I can't play real racing etc without lag??? I want some KitKat release with the best 3d performance as 039-040-041 but it with the great camera that we see in new releases!! Its so difficult??
Guest corvettec3 Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 proximity sensor problem with jonzalvo pure AOSP 2.0: During calls, display turns off when I come it near the face; then if I pull it away, the display is always off in standby. Is it possible to make an adjustment? I can not find the voice of the sensor even in debugging mode.
Guest korekore1 Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 ok after a couple of hours with official kitkat wcdma (4.4.009.P0.140924.8297W) well..it sucks. The ui lags..its pretty nice but i can't accept a rom to lag on such a powerful device..
Guest dakok Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 Corvettec3, you may try this - it's a proximity sensor patch for Funtouch OS for Coolpad F1 Try to flash that (take care - your responsibility! :D) Patch pushes library sensors.default.so inside system/lib/hw
Guest Arpione Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 proximity sensor problem with jonzalvo pure AOSP 2.0: During calls, display turns off when I come it near the face; then if I pull it away, the display is always off in standby. Is it possible to make an adjustment? I can not find the voice of the sensor even in debugging mode. I haven't experienced that but I noticed that it only detects objects from 1-2cm compared to stock rom's 4-5cm. What's strange is that I tried to fix it but every sensor-related file I could find (including what dakok wrote) was exactly the same in jonzalvo's and the stock rom.

Guest Arpione Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I found a new kind of case, full aluminum: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Arrival-Ultra-Slim-Metal-Back-Hard-Case-Wire-Drawing-Design-Cell-Phone-Smart-Cover-For/2028075272.html I wonder how badly would it affect the signal strength.

Guest Mr.Markos Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) . I don't want to be annoying by quoting myself but I don't think my post will be seen after so much new pages. The last two seems te be answered I have a few last questions before I buy this phone. I'm dutch and my provider (Telfort/KPN) uses these bands for umts (3g): 900 / 2100 MHz Do all versions support these bands? There are different versions right? The specifications of the phone says 900/2100 are supported What battery life can I expect with this phone? My daily use is mainly Whatsapp, Facebook and browsing. I hardly ever make a phonecall :) Does the aluminum cover (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/22-Color-2014-Newest-Toughened-Glass-Back-Cover-And-Aluminum-Frame-For-Coolpad-Dashen-F1-8297/1932823414.html) replace the entire backcover? And as last, what is the cheapest shop to buy this phone? Haha. This was the cheapest one I found http://www.antelife.com/coolpad-f1wcdma-version-mtk6592-octa-core-1-7ghz-5-0inch-ips-ogs-hd-gorilla-glass-screen-2gb-8gb-5-0mp-13-0mp-camera-gsm-smartphone-white.html?acc=3c59dc048e8850243be8079a5c74d079 When I look for this phone at chinese webshops (www.chinaprices.us), I only see WCDMA versions and nothing else. I guess the WCDMA is the one to go right? There is nothing else with WCDMA + something extra (4G/LTE?) edit: okay i see pandawill has a version with TD-SCDMA Is the batterylife from the review still feasible? 2 days and 3 hours sounds almost to good to be true Edited September 27, 2014 by Mr.Markos
Guest Mouratti Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 It can be, depend of usage i can garantee that 1 day is ok and you will have 20% end of the day. Start at 8:30AM and on 00:00pm i still have 20% or higher...allways with 3g... No games
Guest dakok Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 wcdma is what you need and you will have at least 4-5 screen-on hours
Guest mindtrapper Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 What were the drawbacks of official versions again? Other than 4-5 digit sms. I know they have the bst camera but what problems do they usually have? After so many roms, and not a good kit kat yet, i was thinking of leaving the PURE Aosp v2 and go to official 041. Will they stop developing those now that they are into official Kit Kat?
