I'll post the update for this soon. I just got done with the messaging app update I was working on.

If you use auto brightness (I don't since it wastes battery) then the brightness now goes down to as far as it can when you're in the dark. When you're outside it'll be the same as it currently is.

Edit: I might reduce the size of the emoji's a little to better match newer versions of Android. At the moment all I wanted to show was that they've been changed.

Nice! Just wanted to ask, when installing an update does all my apps delete or they stay?

They stay until you wipe data :)

Is wiping data needed for update? If not, great:)

Not

Great :)

I have been experiencing more launcher redraws than usual, it happens when i use multiple apps at time, is there a way to make nova launcher unkillable somehow?

It has his own option to make it persistent

It has his own option to make it persistent

If you mean this last option: post-1040382-14100899760263_thumb.jpg

It is enabled all the time, but redraws happen when I run both Messenger and music app, I guess its because messenger high ram usage.

To make it persistent and unkillable you should modify the services.jar (is not easy for a normal user), i don't suggest you to make the launcher unkillable, because if you need RAM, should be the first thing to be killed for his RAM usage, if you don't kill it, you'll have low RAM available and you can have lockups.

Thanks for explaining this. Now I get it.

But, how much ram should be free on this device? Normally I have around 50-80mb free, which is kinda low. Any way to increase that?

Simple, buy another device with 1 GB of ram or more :-)

The problem is not a problem is simply the device that has poor ram value, every basic device with 512MB has issue, and our Huawei even more because available ram is not 512 but 393 MB (the rest is for GPU). You can increase it with some tricks but are not the same as phisical ram, you can:

- use Swap : not suggested because it cut sd life and the phone become unstable and can brick, and not so good in performance

- use ZRAM value 18% or less (not more) : this way compress a little data in ram so you have some more space in MB for other apps

A 512MB ram device now is not suggested for Facebook, Whatsapp and similar app that are ram eaters and active in background.

For your first question it depend how you use your device and the number of app installed, I don't use FB, Whatsapp and other social things so I have 200 MB ram free wtthout any tricks, but if you use ram eaters apps, 50 mb free is a normal value

Man, Im 16 years old, I cant buy new device whenever I want:(

Thanks for explaining that for me. I saw that Cexstel kernel or something like that, with 407mb ram, is that working?

ehe i know and me too even if I'm 41 years old, so we have to stay with this Y300 for years and remember that is a basic device and some app does not match with our poor hardware.

Cexstel 407 version recuce ram for GPU and add it to user but this things is not issue free, if you reproduce some video or you try record some video you can have issue, because GPU ram is not as default value. So use it if you need this little free ram addiction but remember that possibly problem

Well, after a fresh restart and clearing ram with one app, look: http://i.imgur.com/ygHS2EO.png .

I know you all say task managers are doing absolutely nothing, this one actually frees much of my phone ram:)

And next summer I got some job in some restaurant at the seaside, I will got like 1000 euros for 3 months working.

So I hope I will buy some better phone then:)
