Guest Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 Hi... Can I request someone here to port all apps and audio (from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s/development/rom-jellybean-aosp-4-1-1-16-07-12-t1776202) to AOSP MOD . I really want AOSP feel more AOSPer... :)))) I tried to port it by myself, but the video recorder, panorama doesn't work on camera. The AOSP keyboard closes. Also, is it possible for the SystemUI to be ported in that ROM?
Guest luca020400 Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 Why ?? The apps included in aosp mod are the same but updated and with new feature
Guest H3ROS Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) Yeah, exactly like Luca said. The system apps included such as the camera, messaging app, clock and calculator are from newer versions of Android. They're feature enhanced and have bugs fixed, so you'd be downgrading yourself to a set of buggy apps with less features. The only Huawei app in place of an AOSP app is the sound recorder, but I've done that because the Huawei sound recorder actually looks much better than the AOSP version. Using outdated AOSP apps that have been released to the Play Store also isn't recommended. That's something Google is starting to move away from more too, especially with Android Lollipop as that now receives updates for WebView via the Play Store. Even the standalone email app might be removed since the new Gmail app will support different types of accounts. If you were to port something like the SystemUI from that ROM then you'd get a slightly laggy SystemUI, much like it was before I fixed it in the latest update. Power widgets would also be missing, which is why you might want the AOSP SystemUI in the first place, but 99% of people want them options because newer versions of Android have them.
