Probably laek's kernel comes precompiled from another phone with the same SoC.

And many manufacturers build the kernel modules inside the kernel but others do not.

If you try the mix and match approach bad things happen. It would be much easier if all mediatek kernels had fully external modules.

Hi m@nish123, 

Could you please fix the accelerometer not working in micromax A310 on custom roms (like miui,emui,aosp 4.4.3) of coolpad f1 (except laek kk with v3 kernel). When i replaced the zImage of those custom roms with laek's v3 kernel then accelerometer starts working but camera stops working (can't connect to camera).

 

for camera i know fix...bt r u facing any bug of too high brightness and after lock......phone not wake up...only capacitive button glow

If you're working on custom kernel then maybe it could be useful to increase poweroff/poweron battery voltage:

to 3500 / 3550 or 3600 ?

 

This should help avoid problems with too low battery power that makes problem with screen & other hw components when battery is discharged.

and this is the only rom with no bug like accelerometer or any. I didn't face any bug like too high brightness, even auto brightness is working fine (btw i am using gravitybox to decrease the level of minimum brightness from 20 to 7 for night use). My phone always wakes up when i press power button (no matter how long my phone has been locked). My capacitive buttons don't glow until i press capacitive buttons (not when i press power button to wake up screen - may be because of gravitybox configuration that i don't remember).

Now the problem starts with any other custom roms (only accelerometer doesn't work, rest works fine including brightness). ya i was on emui 3 so brightness and locked bug is der....for camera........copy all lib starting from libcamera,libcam,libimgio.so and libfeatureio.so...from leaks rom...and paste in any rom..in which u facing the camera using leak kernel

leak.17 used 8297 (TD-CDMA) 4.4.2 021 ROM in v3 & 8297W (WCDMA) 4.4.2 009 in v4.

well we have micromax a310...bt there is no new update....it's some modaco dev released now....our kernel is not booting.....after logo hangs

have you found any jb rom with working accelerometer? till now i tried two jb ( miui 5 & pure aosp v2 by jonzalvo) but accelerometer doesn't work in A310.

maybe he is referring to a310 phone, not rom :) I've seen they have some issues with jb roms and accelerometer, which also lets me think that there may be some differences in some aspects (they have problems with accelerometer using "our" roms and we have battery issues using "their" rom)

yeah i haven't thought of that..!it could also be bad flashing..

There are no battery issues with a310,it is just ''optimized'' this way.I definitely prefer a310's battery management..!

Did the kernel panic with logo before you were able to catch any logs or you've got some logs?

Are you still working on it or have you stopped work looking for other sources?

Maybe you could disable boot logo & get kernel log output on fb console.

Have you compiled in all modules from stock KK kernel (visible in /sys/modules) and verified cmdline dependencies?

Well....There is lcm driver missing so unfortunately it won't go furthur after logo....bt it hangs after logo that mean...there is chances of we can get custom kernel easily.....asap my exam (possible after 22dec only) will finished then will start fix of lcm driver and other stuff....[emoji2]

it seems coolpad f1's accelerometer is "bma250" while mmx nitro's is "lis3dh" (when compared both devices kernel drivers).

i guess it's not what u telling....if that thing is true then coolpad f1 kernel never boot on mmx devices
