Guest Milanche78 Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 The version before the 1 with the new kernel
Guest dakok Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 fastest 3g?what version do you have?i am with 19.12 version maucat aosp (not the version with the white settings menu,i am with the real aosp one) and 3g is completely broken.Right now i am in a place where i used to get 15mbs (full 3g+ speed and full 4 bars of signal) and with this rom i can't even connect to the 3g network (0-1bars). the rom is properly installed and apn is set correctly. if it wasn't for the terrible 3g signal this rom would be top. I have 19.12. version on and 3g works excellent. No point in repeating this again. :D It could be files on SD card, files in data partition, recovery, 900MHz antenna you use (?) or something unknown (stock 4.4 rom flashing maybe)

I know perfectly well how to clean flash a rom,it isn't an installation issue,it's a rom issue.

Guest dakok Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 That is one side of the true, the other is that there are many users that have no 3G problem with this rom :) We all have the same hardware, so it has to be one of the things I proposed. Same rom on the same hardware wouldn't make difference...
Guest dalyer Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) Guys - can you please refer to my post here for a list of anecdotal problem reports (and where possible potential fixes): http://www.modaco.com/topic/374138-aosp-44-by-maucat/#entry2244479 This will avoid the need for repeatedly asking for things like the list of apps reported as being problematic, the suggested DPI fix for some of these etc. or repeatedly reporting the same problems. If anybody has anything to add to that post then let me know. Also - if possible can people please report the version/date of the ROM that they are using. Stuff like "the version before the one with the new kernel" is very confusing! As far as I can see so far we have had these versions: 12th Dec 19th Dec 25th Dec 28th Dec Does anybody know if/where changelogs are posted for this ROM? I can't find anything on the 4pda.ru thread. Thanks. Edited December 29, 2014 by dalyer
Guest Arpione Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Guys - can you please refer to my post here for a list of anecdotal problem reports (and where possible potential fixes): http://www.modaco.com/topic/374138-aosp-44-by-maucat/#entry2244479 This will avoid the need for repeatedly asking for things like the list of apps reported as being problematic, the suggested DPI fix for some of these etc. or repeatedly reporting the same problems. If anybody has anything to add to that post then let me know. Here's a screenshot for bug #20 to make it clearer. The title of the song / name of the ringtone you chose should be under Select ringtone but after a reboot it get's replaced by a random number, in this case it's 46141.
Guest dalyer Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Thanks Arpione - I'll add that to the bug/issue report post.
Guest razorinc Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 And with the latest build I have problem with signal reception, sometimes it does not have signal at all, it searches and nothing happens... So I contacted maucat, but he says he doesn t have such problem, but he will watch it for a few days...
Guest dakok Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Really strange thing. It seems that chances is 50% one will have problems with this rom. :D
Guest Hormon Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 This ROM also lost the network, and is weaker by comparison to others.
Guest dalyer Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Can you be more specific - e.g. System settings > About phone > Status > Signal strength on Maucat AOSP versus some other ROM where you don't have any signal strength problem?
Guest korekore1 Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) i think the problem is country specific.Like there are missing provider's entries in the rom.For example i am from Greece,i have the 3g problem, when i go to settings/network settings/preffered networks there are only 2g providers names in there.I think i should see both 3g and 2g providers names. I see that people from Serbia and Croatia don't have the 3g problem, but for example people from Greece do.The phone hardware is the same so something must be missing or broken from the rom Edited December 29, 2014 by korekore1
Guest slime00 Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Apn's maybe? Try using jonzalvo's ones, never had problems with them
Guest razorinc Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 I flash maucat infocus, I only changed the old kernel with the dec 19... In the same place I have 3g, with aosp I have 2g or no signal at all....
Guest korekore1 Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Apn's maybe? Try using jonzalvo's ones, never had problems with them no,must be something else.I always enter my apns manually..

Guest dakok Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 I entered 3G settings from Offline SIM Database app from the Play Store since the original 3G setup was faulty if I remember correctly. I do that with every china rom so didn't pay attention...
Guest dalyer Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 i will try that..! edit:no change.. Did you try taking the equivalent files from the Maucat Infocus as you suggested earlier? I presume that Infocus doesn't have the poor/lost/2G only signal issue that you and a couple of others seem to have on Maucat AOSP? Seems very odd that a few people have this and others do not. It would obviously be useful to get to the bottom of this (and the battery drain issue that some people also report). I'm hoping to try Maucat AOSP soon and will report how I get on as soon as possible.
