My h2 is already rooted (Jan 2015). If I download and install this latest update, anyone know if it will interfere with root?

Thanks.

Can't see this posted anywhere here but this is the changelog from the Tesco support website.

The Hudl2 v1.3 software version is available to download and install. The new software version includes:

  • Improvements to the Child Safety app
  • Ability to remove blinkbox widgets & apps
  • Updated My Tesco app
  • New entertainment partners Spotify, Kobo & Wuaki apps have been added
  • Google security updates

Amateur error...I forgot to actually move apps to the SD card it hasn't fixed it..sorry. (It has fixed the disappearing icons bug, but only after doing a software rebuild on the device. I think it was all to do with the Tesco launcher which has now been updated.)

Sadly the latest Android version for the hudl 2 cannot yet be rooted.

I got excited when I saw this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-hudl-2-t3117459

sadly the IMG file seems to be invalid (despite being labled Android-build.20150319.222108)

Cannot belive i bought a new hudl today, connected the Wifi on first boot and let it update! What an idiot!!!!!

I was completely wrong.. see bellow!

Here is a much simpler way to do so than whats in the link you posted: http://www.modaco.com/topic/375250-easiest-way-to-root-hudl-2-running-latest-updatesoftware/

I must apologise... I spent the day yesterday hunting around for a way to root Android-build.20150319.222108 and only found the one I mentioned earlier... which simply refused to read the system.img file.

I then followed EananC's original post on rooting it (http://www.modaco.com/topic/373642-how-to-root-your-hudl-2/page-28#entry2258284). This failed in the first instance... stalled during install of SuperSU.. I copied SuperSU update zip file to the phone memory instead of SD Card and started again... This time, worked perfectly,

Thanks a lot for your time and effort on this EananC
