If you sit on a page long enough without doing anything, the phone will automatically disconnect from the Express Network. The minute you click on a link, it'll reconnect and fetch the data.

I will confirm however that with an ACTIVE express network connections I still recieve voicemail notifications and SMS messages. Tonight I was browing on my phone and a SMS came through... i was ecstatic! I went to the home screen and the Rx Tx things were still up and the connected icon in the corner. I think I will make my voicemail "if my voicemail picked up right away Im probably here, leave a message and i will get back to you. if it kept ringing and ringing and ringing it probably means i dont like you, or my caller id isnt working. or maybe my caller id doesnt like you. either way im not calling you back" .... BEEP
