All custom roms for Huawei Ascend Y300/G510

Tried today - ColorOS

 

Booting takes 30 seconds

Installed Camera and other essential apps from Y300 backup

 

Some functions I tried not working,  for example

1) cannot change Ringing Sound (stopped working and exits settings).

2) Cannot set Local weather

3) Some Chinese settings on email, Google and Music

 

Needs some fixes but overall, it's fast and I like the fonts and icons.

Hi, thanks for your recommendations, could you tell me the différence between slimstock and cm 10.1 about battery draining ? I'm more interested by cyanogen since i have cm 11 on my s3 mini, the y300 is for my wife and it would be more easy if we will have the same Features...

cyanogenmod 10.1 is pure aosp clean and fast but slimstock is a modified stock rom ( fusion x ) with HWA perfect for games

For me with 2G connection 5:30hrs.

On 3G 4hrs

Don't have a wifi connection :(

Hm..approximately 1 hr difference (in screen on)

In CM 10.X ROMs you will have to charge the phone once in a day where Stock based ROMs can go 2 days with moderate use ;)

Stock is better in Battery life in terms of our phone

Kitkat ROMs have great battery life but lacks Full HWA

Ok, thanks. I think i will try cyanogen to have the same rom to our two phones. So, cm11 has issue with hwa ? Does it mean hardware acceleration ? It is used for games and video ?

Yes it means Hardware acceleration :)

I am not having any problem with Video but games are a bit laggy :O

My wife will not play games at all but will probably play video, so it could be a miss.Is it the only issue with cm11 or is there others stability or bugs issues ? And which are the main difference between cm11 and cm10.?

The cm 11 is nightly (Bugged and slow) and the cm 10.1 is completed fast and stable

Ok, so i think i will follow your recommandation, and if the battery is emptied too quickly, i will try stock based rom. Before flashing my s3 mini, i made an efs backup (imei) because it was recommended. Should i do the same backup before flash my y300?

Expert ROM V3 - the best thing that has ever happened to my y300! I absolutely love this ROM!

Its light, soooo smooth and fast! Gameplay in Expert is probably the best in any CyanogenMod available for y300 (at least for me)

Install GLTools and say bye to lags :)

All of these games work well with slight to no lag (With GLTools):

- Need for Speed Most Wanted (High Graphics)

- Dead Trigger 2 (High Graphics)

- 300 Game

- Wild Blood

- Modern Combat 4

- Real Boxing ( Tegra Graphics)

- and a few others.

I'm gonna stick with this ROM for a while :)

Expert V3 is one of gem. Installed yesterday only. will going to stick to it.
