Are u sure? It contains only Mms.apk file.

edit

I removed Browser.apk from /system/priv-app (in zip file) and did a clean install, works like a charm, version of browser: 8.2.14. Only problem: about:blank contains only chinese sites, on miui 6.9.29 I have normal global sites. But in settings it is possible to change default blank page to static one.

Hmm, but it is very old version (7.8.7), 6.10.13 already contains much newer (8.2.14), I see no point in using older version :)

Another bug (or limitation?), network type (2g/3g) can be changed only for SIM in first slot, there is no menu item for changing network type of SIM in second slot. On AOSP I could choose which slot is 3g one, without need to power off and switch SIM cards between slots.

...

Is there any way to disable SIM card when I switch mobile data off? I'm using SIM in 3g slot only for internet, so I always switch it off to save energy. But it's very time consuming to enable sim, set it as internet and then turn mobile data on.

edit

You can also use my mod:

I tested it with miui and all 7 colors of notification led are working :)

@Jpower73 - how about battery stats on your device on this new miui rom?

i'm affraid that mine is drainig very fast (100%-65% and only 45 min of screen on in statistics).

rom is great btw, but i don't know its a matter of my battery or rom.

I get about 5h+ sot.

Check out battery & performance settings.

Miui 8 has its own "greenify"  system.

And it works great...!

Don't forget to mention that u should calibrate the battery first.

Then u'll get more accurate readings.

using calibration app, doesnt do anything, trust me, just charge your phone and disscharge it to 0, but dont dont do it too frequently since it can brake your battery, calibration app only deletes batterystats from root of your phone but it doesnt do significant work, thats just a myth

Does anybody know who is the author of this fix? Or on what firmware it is based? I want to make something similar for miui 8 rom. I already got it partially working, I edited init.ssd.rc file (just changed /data/media/ to /mnt/media_rw/sdcard1/) and now I have new folders on external sd card, "0", "legacy" and "obb". But there are some problems, mtp is bugged more than usual, I cannot install apks from emulated storage (from "0" folder or any of its subdirectories, It just shows red cross without any error message), some apps cannot be downloaded from google play (for example Microsoft Excel, i get error code 492).

On aosp 4.4 it was enough to edit init.ssd.rc. Maybe sdcard needs to be formated as ext4. If I know on what rom "External SD card default storage" fix is based, I could just compare file by file to know what needs to be edited.

about my battery usage on newest miui - like you see - j get not even close to 4hrs.

and this is happening on two batteries (one original and one i'v bought a few months ago).

i didn't change ant battry save options, like you see.

and i've got the lowest brightnes on screen...

and this is right after drain battery to 0% (till it power off) and charge to 100 %.

any ideas?

On many roms I noticed that 3G on this phone is very power hungry. I'm just using 2G when I don't need internet connection

i'll give a shot to this nevest miui, but if nothing changes, 2hrs of SOT more makes the difference.

- no,  nothing at all.

- brightness is set to auto.

- I've added a few "goodies" improving speed, video acceleration, stability, 3g tweaks..

No,  it's not.

Xmiui is miuis gravity box

The other apk is for extended boot menu.

Xposed is optional,  after all
