Coolpad F1 8297w - Review / Info / Software / Custom Roms

Hey guys, apologies for storming in, but I need some help with flashing this phone, I have no previous experience and i'm afraid i'll mess things up...

 

so, the phone came rooted from the seller, but in the recovery menu (vol+/power) everything is in chinese. do i need to use vroot or can i do something with this? 

i have mobileuncle installed and recovery.img/MobileUncle apk/gapps on my sd card. is it ok to run recovery.img through mobileuncle to get cwm? (and then follow the steps for flashing a custom rom)

 

and please, could you give me a link for CoolLife w036 lite v5, i can only find v4...

I guess you installed cwm in english through mobile uncle.

You can try to find language option in settings and switch to english.

I don't have coolLife rom right now, but as I can remember - touch

menu button at screen bottom and find setings there

In settings look for keyboard icon or icon with letter A or something like that

When you find it - first option on top is the language change.

 

It may be easier just to flash gapps because it will offer english language as soon as phone reboots

I have the latest Lewa rom now on. It looks very good for now.

Where do you have Chinese text?

 

You can uninstall some china apps in apps menu and freeze others with some root uninstaller from Google Play

You can rename home folders names that are in chinese, too.

My impression is that dakok is just trying lots of different ROMs and posting details of each.

He is not necessarily recommending this latest one although he may have recommended others based on his own experience from time to time.

I'm sure that he can speak/clarify for himself though. :D

Anyway i think that lewa is very nice for our phone.

 

Now i use my-ui (07.09) and i try to download the new version (07.22).

You think that (if and when i will finish!) is possible to install the new my-ui over the older? (+ - like update)??

LOST MY IMEI NUMBERS

I use the [Factory ROM] 036 as TWRP backup file (virgin installation) by Borsosg

and after the phone is reboot i lost the singnal from my proviter.

Then i chek the IMEI number and i see that is null.

 

if anyone you know hot to fix this plz tell me.

After of a week of trying and testing A LOT finally i found the solution to my problem. :D :D

 

YOU WILL NEED

 

1. First of all you must be sure you have the correct drivers installed on your pc.

    You can find how you do that in that section.

2. After that you need the following software.

 

• SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1352.01       (i dont know if this one is the latest but you can try with this or you can get the latest.)

• This ROM : Coolpad_F1_8297W_4.2.015.P0.140321.8297W     (you can find it at this section)

           Coolpad F1 wcdma Original rom 015 and Flash Tool from Chigon

3. You MUST have the correct USB cable.  ( this one was my problem.)

    Try several cables if is not working.

 

 

WHEN YOU HAVE ALL THE ABOVE.

 

Unzip the ROM file to one folder

Unplug your phone from pc (if you have it connected)

Turn you phone OFF and unplug the battery.

 

 

Open the SP Flash Tool.

 

 

 

 

1. Choose the scatter file. (MT6592_Android_scatter.txt) normaly is inside the ROM folder you unzip it before.

2. From the drop down list choose Download Only.

3. Uncheck ONLY the first item of the list named PRELOADER.

4. Click on download button. (wait a few seconds)

5. PRESS AND HOLD the Volume + button. (dont leave it) (this works for me, you can try any other combination. e.g. Vol + and Vol -  )

6. Connect the usb cable. (still you have the Volume + button pressed, DONT LEAVE IT.)

7. When the red bar goes to 100 % (the bar to the bottom of the SP Flash Tool).

8. THEN and ONLY THEN leave the Volume + button of your Phone. (Do not take too long to leave it).

9. If was all ok you will see a Yellow bar instead of the red one. That means that you done all right.

10. Don't do ANYTHING leave your phone , away from keyboard and wait to finish the prosses.

11. When you see a window pop ups with one green check that means that the prosses ends.

12. Unplug your phone, put the battery back on and Power On your phone.

13. Wait until your phone start up fully. (this mind take a while for the first time.)

 

Try to type  *#06*#  at your dial pad of your phone.

if you see your IMEI that mean that all wend ok.

 

 

This prosses help me to recovery my lost IMEI.

I've done this process on Windows 7 32-bit.

The phone (you can buy it from anywhere) arrive with custom recovery (usually chinese CWM). So the stock recowery is everytime CWM... You can active it with vol+ and power button (as you know). The other thing: I dont think so that my 036 backup about anybody loose his IMEI. I maked this backup from virgin system without Nvram. If sombody afraid of loose his IMEI, before restore my backup, make an IMEI backup from Mobile Uncle tools. I think in any case it is important to make an Imei backup, and a nandroid backup before flash any new ROM, or do a restore from an other backup... In Hungary many peoples used my backup for update his system, and nobody comlained about loosing his Imei...

i try your 036 back up , before that i make a back up to my IMEI with Mobile Ungle.

after reboot i lost my IMEI numbers and the worst of that is the restore from Mobile Ungle don't work.

Mobile ungle tell me that the IMEI restore was success but after reboot i check the IMEI and again NULL value.

Plz if you know how to fix this tell me.
