Guest jmunin Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Hello to all, I'm using the atx 018 rom an I'm quite satisfied with the overall performance but I have a little problem: the text at the end of the rows is not correctly managed, the words are broken in the middle making it difficult to read a multi line text. This happens with all apps. Maybe this is due to the fact that the default base rom is Chinese. Anyone knows how to overcome this and to have the phone behave as usual? ok, i have the same issue in all coolpad ui kitkat roms. Jonzalvo's jellybean rom not. Any suggestions?

Is this the text wrap/reflow issue on KK mentioned in tcpaulh's signature - e.g. here? http://www.modaco.com/topic/373761-my-reviewopinions-about-the-hudl-2/#entry2237226
Guest gst0098 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 It is the third time that when I wake up in the morning after flashing CoolUi 018 the previous day, I have no Root. :angry2: I usually flash the Rom, than change to english, than flash the gapps, than in the Apps I disable as many chinese/unusefull apps as its possible, and then I uninstall them with the System App Remover, those are Weather app, Baidu, browser, the blue shield, the red trolley, Anzhi green bag... Do not know whats the problem  This time Ill try to freeze them with the Titanium backup. 1 more thing that happens to me often, I can not use the USB transfer, I connect the phone (driver is installed, and everything is ok the moments after flashing), bt nothing happens... I have now the same problem, I lost root, I tracked down that probably is due to supersu trying to update to newer version, it does delete the old su binary and not able to update to the newer. At least it was what happened to me. A solution is to flash the su binary through recovery and disable supersu auto update completely. Any one knows where to get the su binary for our phone flashable trough recovery?
Guest corvettec3 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) After I flashed 018 official kitkat rom, I don't see my contacts saved on my sim card. If I go in contact setting, I can choose among google contact, phone contact and whatsapp contact but anyway seems that there aren't any contacts. I try to put sim card in another phone and there I can see all contacts saved on my sim. How can I show them? thanks Edited November 10, 2014 by corvettec3
Guest dakok Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 SuperSU flashing through custom recovery (CWM, TWRP) saves bad root :) Here is the latest release

But I have this problem in all applications: news app, whatsapp, telegram, etc.
Guest Milanche78 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 I did update the SuperSu through the CWM, hope everything will be fine now.

Https sites also doesn't work(e.g https://facebook.com or https://www.google.com). It looks like problem with SSL. On other roms(e.g AOSP) I don't have such problems, only on miui

Guest BrucieK Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) What do you mean? I'm curious why https didn't worked on miui. On all roms I tested hosts file have same line: 127.0.0.1 localhost Edited November 10, 2014 by BrucieK

If you just need to configure your settings then will something like Tweakker APN work for you? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweakker

On all roms I tested hosts file have same line: 127.0.0.1 localhost sometimes chinese roms load the hosts file with specific site blocks, but if the only line is 127.0.0.1 then this isn't the case.Funny thing is that recently i tested a rom with the same issue,i tried to edit hosts but it was empty. But i can't remember what i did to fix it..

Guest corvettec3 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) i have 018 official rom and i can see. I doubt that SIM card could hold the whole town phone numbers... 018 4.4.2 official. If you put 2 sims (one on wcdma and one on gsm slot), phone doesn't see contacts saved on sim card. I have one sim for call and one data sim. Please try it and let me know. With one sim (wcdma or gsm) it's ok. With other old versions phone read contacts also with 2 sim on slots. Guest Milanche78 Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 No, regularly, 2 sim cards, all the contacts there.
