Guest 77chedu Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 Yes, on every reboot. Ok, That's because of the way supersu is installed. Having that much acceptance over the greek forum, hopefully someone can take a look in to that (updater script)

Guest Jpower73 Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) WOW.. Interpolarated ram storage too.. ;) S5 rom edit: Also, if you encounter high energy draining, i think i found the solution.. Using wakelock detector i noticed that there's a service called "server system 1.0" which was hitting with an average of 1 interrupt every 0.6 sec. Searching SGS5 forums i found out that the following services it is safe to get "frozzen". After that Δ was decreased from 11% to 6.5%/h with more than an hour SOT. + "Factory Mode 1.0" + "Hub 1.0" services + smart remote apk (this could help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752668) NOTICE/WARNING: ALWAYS KEEP A NANDROID BACKUP, IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG. btw, another camera sample, same conditions, without flashlight, incandescent enviroment lightning using a better camera, S5 romset at 13,4mp (16:9)https://www.dropbox.com/s/...05326.jpg?dl=03.9MB file sizeset at 21,6mp (16:9)https://www.dropbox.com/sc...IuEYrgzI5RDLJa6.1MB file size I  interpolaration :D Edited January 17, 2015 by Jpower73

Guest xeros2 Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 Jpower73, Please post output from 'free' command from terminal emulator on this rom. I suppose that it could have 'zram' + swap in ram configured that may show more memory because of realtime memory compression, but I haven't checked this rom yet.

Guest xeros2 Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) Jpower73, Thanks. As I thought, if you didn't setup swap partition on sdcard then it has to be swap in zram. You can confirm that if you get /dev/zram0 device in output of 'cat /proc/swaps'. Generally on multicore CPUs such realtime RAM compression doesn't impact performance, is really useful and makes impression like device had a lot more RAM - when I did zram testing on few other devices I got ratio of 3:1-3.7:1 (on my laptop this way I really use up to 24-25GB RAM on physical 8GB) so in this case it means that you are able to use up to 4-5GB of RAM even if it show around 3GB. The other good approach of that is that memory is not being compressed until most of it is used, then it starts compression of things that don't fit these not compressed 2GB. This makes a lot better results than swap on sdcard or using simply our 2GB without compression. I did such tests on F1 on AOSP 4.4.2 sometime before as kernel on both 4.2.2 & 4.4.2 supports zram - it just needed to script such device creation at desired size, making swap on it & enabling it at boot. And Lenovo A850+ for example has it enabled in stock fw to make better use of it's only 1GB RAM (no real difference this way with 2GB RAM use in F1). Edited January 16, 2015 by xeros2
Guest Jpower73 Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 No, xeros2 I don't use this way my sd cards in order to avoid shortening their lives...
