Simply... Want to be able to mount USB flash drives ect. on daily basis, copy files. But the problem is as most or all ??? know, Huawei Ascend y300 models things dont support out of box. PLUS power doesn't flow output ways. But i have seen little posts here and their of kernels with USB OTG support and people replay it works. My Y300-0100 is rooted with TWRP. Can someone please tell me if these kernels work and what ones in particular. I dont mind which OS or kernel u recommend. Thanks. ;)

Okay I had another attempt (http://www.modaco.com/topic/364200-cyanogenmod-101-build-r22-021014/ + http://www.modaco.com/topic/365606-kernel-cexstel-v062-y300g510-stockcm-290314/) and ran USB host diagnostic.

Android API Claims Support = Y

Android API Classes Found = Y

Android API Device Found = N

Rooted API = NA (i enabled supersu?)

Kernel Claims Support = Y

Verdict = NO :(

After that i placed my OTG cable (http://www.ebay.com/itm/MICRO-USB-HOST-OTG-Cable-With-USB-Power-For-Samsung-Galaxy-S5-S4-Note-4-Note-3-/321558749819?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:AU:3160) and saw my flash drive light up for a millisecond tini second! is it my cable by any chance. considering i thought i might have gotten one with male USB for feature charging through computer. the cable male USB to female USB (kinky!)  isnt mounting flash drive on computer. I think it might be cable.

Dnt anybody worry (Not that anyone did :( ) dont buy the cable RIP soz ebay awkward go help someone else i will buy new cable standard. With no male USB!

Still thanks.

these are the kernels i am talking about

Do they work straight after they are flashed, do i need more software first? please

the first link i did CeXstel v0.62 for CM10.1: to be precise

1. flashed CM10.0 (cm-10.1-20141002-UNOFFICIAL-u8833) http://www.modaco.com/topic/364200-cyanogenmod-101-build-r22-021014/

2. flashed CeXstel v0.62 for CM10.1: http://www.modaco.com/topic/365606-kernel-cexstel-v062-y300g510-stockcm-290314/

both pushed to phone and flashed TWRP after wipe internal, cache, dalvik, data. (fresh)

  • 1 month later...

I had not luck with homemade Y-USB cable (micro B - male A - female A port). Basiclly I got USB-OTG cable with external +5V for USB massive storage device, but can not be detected on Y300.... at least battery charging works.
