[ROM][5.1.1] Cyanogenmod 12.1 [Y300/G510] [04/06/2015]

In latest CM12 and CM12.1 updates, the dialer freezes after making or receiving a call, no matter if i use or not the VoIP fix, it just happens, tried also to revert some audio HAL updates, it didn't help.

 

My tests:

 

I used the CM12 linked in the first post (the one from 23-02-2015), and no problems with dialer, also i could flash the VoIP fix, it seems to fix all, i tested whatsapp calls and FB messenger calls and they worked.

 

After this test, i thought that this problem (dialer freeze) could be caused by some audio HAL updates made after the 23-02-2015, then i reverted these updates and did a fresh build again, with or without the VoIP fix, it happens anyway, at the moment i am stuck at this, any help is appreciated.

Can you compile other rom like AOKP, Omni and test the dialer? Maybe is CM problem.

If i post a new version, can someone test normal calls on that build? just to be sure it's not only my phone to be affected by that bug..

This is a test version, is not working as it should and it's for testing purpose only.

 

Changelog:

 

- updated to CyanogenMod 12.1 (Android 5.1)

- use software AVC decoder for video playback

- ART optimizations for low memory devices (thanks humberos and Kirmaniarslan) and fixed Gapps lag (well, the main bug has been fixed, but Gapps are still heavy, the responsiveness will always be reduced after installing Gapps on a device with 512 MB di RAM, especially during the Setup Wizard)

- temporary disabled zRAM due to swap errors

- correctly enabled dex preoptimization (thanks chil360)

 

also, i merged the video recording fix made by chil360, but it didn't work, i may need to modify my media_codecs.xml, i didn't look into it as there is a new bug i am trying to fix.

 

New bug (need to know if it's a bug for me only or for all):

I shared this new build becayse i need to know if this bug happens to me only or to all.

 

I didn't implement the VoIP fix yet, because it may require changes after fixing this bug.

 

How to report a bug?

 

- Send me a logcat, use Catlog app

- Phone model (Y300 or G510)

- Dmesg if needed

 

any bug report without the minimum requirements won't be accepted.

At the moment i am stuck into finding a solution for the dialer, once we got it working again and fixed the wifi issues, more ROMs can be compiled, at the moment is not good working on other ROMs, as we didn't get Lollipop working good yet.

Maybe cm12.1 source is not ready yet? You should try with aosp

hi @fonz93 did what the logcat not know if I did well because I had never worked with this but want to collaborate in developing this ROM calls the latter do not work run but not heard what if I can note is that the rom is very fluid even more than slimlp add my google account without problems.

hola @fonz93 hice lo del logcat no se si lo hice bien ya que nunca había trabajado con esto pero quiero colaborar al desarrollo de esta ROM las llamadas no funcionan los segundos corren pero no se escucha lo que si puedo destacar es que la rom es muy fluida incluso mas que slimlp agregue mi cuenta google sin problemas.

Hey, fonz! Thanks a lot for the new build! I can say that the dialer bug is present for me as well when I'm making a call. However, I do not consider it to be a big problem, just more of an annoying issue you can solve quickly. By pressing the home button and then entering the phone app again, the dialer is back in working order, so as long as there is a workaround, I find the rom completely usable. I saw the logs and, as you said, there are quite a lot of errors, but, at least for me, LP is much more stable than CM11 while being about just as responsive, so I'm going to stick with LP for now.

Just to let you know, thanks to sunnyden and chil360 i think that the dialer bug and probably also videorecording are fixed, my build is compiling so i didn't test the fix yet, but chil360 that is using is own build, confirmed that the fix is working
